Even if these figures aren't entirely accurate, it does reflect the inability of TNA to grow under their current montly PPV model.
Personally, I really don't think that for a company that needs growth as much as TNA does, that charging for monthly PPVs are going to work. The small casual audience isn't invested enough to buy the shows and the quality isn't consistent enough to target the more 'smarky' audience.
I really think they need to go back to basics with a more 80s model. I.E. bi or thrice-monthly PPVS with a huge amount of build, waypointed by 2-3 hour specials on spike where they show their current PPV programs and are at the very least guaranteed a larger audience. No real knowledge on my part though though, it just seems that they really need a new approach.

They need to lower their ppv prices to $19.99 instead of the ridiculous $34.99 price for their ppvs. I don't know how much that would help, but it would at least be a positive step.

If that had more matches like Beer Money vs MCMG and less involving Hardy/Terry/Abyss and lose the ECW ripoff stuff - $20 is a price I would def. pay.

Dunno if the number is accurate but I doubt they are drawing huge buyrates or they'd let us know that on TV. They are pretty good about letting us know on tv that they "Broke a Spike TV ratings record" or "Broke attendence record for live evnts) ect. So if they poped a 100,000 buys they'd likely let us know. If they advertised thier show in general better perhaps more people would be drawn to giving it a watch, maybe they get hooked and then maybe they buy ppv's.

No wonder they're doing the ECW reunion. They saw the numbers WWE did for One Night Stand... even if they come away with a 5th of what ONS does... it's a huge success for TNA.

Am sorry am calling massive bulls*** on this. TNA is a private company and there is no way of knowing the numbers they did for the PPV'S. Thought one of these "news sites" said TNA where doing away with PPV'S anyway? God I HATE the internet and the totally crap people post and believe! You are aware of the irony of posting on the internet to decry it?

That's where Meltzer gets his buyrate estimates for the UFC, which is also a private company and doesn't release it's official numbers. Or, you know, somebody made it known what the buyrates are... This quick? It hasn't even been 2 days yet since VR. It's usually takes 3 months for WWE's buyrates to come out. Meltzer usually has the preliminary estimates for UFC PPV's within a couple days, so it doesn't seem to farfetched that he could get TNA's as well. They aren't the exact numbers, as those don't come out for a couple months but they're usually pretty accurate.

Still got more buys then my last PPV,"Doctor Frito's Land 9:All Asian Edition" To be fair, part 9 was the worst one yet, even worse than part 6, parts 1,3 & 4 are still your best ones. What was your problem with "Doctor Frito's Land 6: Cookies n' Cream"? I admit that maybe having 2 dance sequences at the end was overkill but that stuff with the Queen, the strippers and the dinosaurs was AWESOME.

Have 2-3 Big ones outside Orlando and make a huge deal out of them. TNA (with few exceptions) has been smart on site selection for outside ppvs. going with traditional wrestling hotbeds Boston, Philly, St.Louis, Detroit, Atlanta. Add Dallas and New York to the line up and I think you get decent gates. (The Detroit show at the Palace was foolish as was choosing LA for BFG IMO)

I keep sending e-mails to TNA Management that if you want to improve buyrates...Velvet Sky wrestles in the nude. At least I think they're being sent to TNA management. Larry Zbyszko is still part of TNA right?
Is this sexist? I guess. Will it get horny men an incentive to order a PPV? You bet her sweet ass it will.

I read on a NEWZ site a few weeks ago that this concept was actually going to be one of Dixie's huge announcements, especially after she mentioned that she had approval from someone at Spike.
