There was a time when I thought Petey was going to be the next big TNA guy. It was right about that time of AJ & Daniels teaming up and LAX really being the best thing in wrestling about a couple weeks prior to Russo coming in.
LAX recruits Petey to help them burn the US Flag by saying he too should hate the US, blah blah blah. Petey goes with them and ends up taking them all out... this was in the middle of the LAX/AJ&Daniels feud, and it really seemed like Petey was the next LAX target.
Then in comes Russo, and LAX goes from badness, serious stable to a walking stereotype without a mouthpiece, less violence, and a bottle of tequilla to a less and less relevant tag team... *shakes head*. I always wonder if Russo never comes in and Konnan doesn't leave TNA, what would have happened to LAX.
Back to the topic... I always enjoyed watching Petey, but being the third knockoff gimmick was just stupid stupid stupid. STUPID STUPID STUPID.

Russo came in just as the LAX/AJ & Daniels feud was going on after No Surrender. That ended at BFG, and they went to feud with AMW, which is where the flag burning thing happened, not during the AJ/Daniels feud. Then a few months down, they feuded with Team 3D.

Is he even still wrestling? and if so, is he still doing the Petey Pump gimmick?

No offense but does he really bring anything to the table that anyone else in the X-Division doesn't have aside from a flashy finisher? I suppose I would take him over Red but I wouldn't go out of my way to sign him.

I thought that Petey Williams should never have been let go. The guy had an over finisher and was pretty good in the ring as well. I didn't think the guy was going to be a main event guy or anything but he should have been a consistent fixture in the X-Division.

Petey always seemed like one of the best in TNA, up there with AJ, Daniels, and Low-Ki.

Petey vs Doug Williams could have been neat. And not just for the matches. The entertainment segments could be interesting too.

Not really...when you look back to when the X-Division actually mattered, Williams was just as over as those other guys. He wasn't some huge uberdraw but he wasn't "some little guy who can't get a reaction", either. He was as popular as most TNA midcarders got at the time.

Yeah, he was also the leader of Team Canada, which isn't a huge accomplishment, but he certainly wasn't just a scrub.

Outside of the finisher, which once you saw it a couple times was just completely ridiculous, I could take or leave ol' Petey.
