this needs to be an impact!! i want to see the reaction Nash and Hogan would get in the ecw arena and the hammerstein.
i do imagine Sting would get a standing ovation though from people, i think theres a mutual respect for him all around wrestling just for his super nice guy in everyday life image.

I'm envisioning a "you sold out" chant for RVD. ...why? He was in the WWE for years, and was on a lengthy hiatus (aside from a few indy appearances) before joining TNA.

They're gonna need crowd mute for Hammerstein. If they dumped all over One Night Stand, they'll sure as hell vomit all over IMPACT. I'm sure they'll crap all over the current TNA product, but when did they crap on ONS? They really seemed to enjoy both shows. Did you see the main event of the ECW that Punk debuted in: Batista vs. The Big Show? They didn't just crap all over it, they almost rioted because of those two.

That wasn't ONS, though. As I recall, they LOVED the first ONS. The second one they crapped on a bit in places, but they were positive about it overall.
I'll never forget how the fans all started singing Enter Sandman when the Sandman came out.

He came back because they threw money at him. He was content to have a radio show in California and burn a few every day until then.

That was a poor decision on WWE's part for the main event, no doubt. But TNA will be fine, I'd imagine the main event will involve RVD, Angle, AJ or Joe, the match will be good and the fans will like it. As I said earlier in the thread as long as the wrestling is good, the fans will not crap all over a TNA house show. I'm not even that big of a TNA fan, but all the talk of the fans completely crapping all over the show solely because it's TNA are amusing at best.

I dont get what a lot of you are talking about. There isnt only one type of fan that attends Hammerstein. It probably wont be much different than their other NY crowds, which have all been quite good (NY is easily their highest attended area for House Shows) As far as the arena goes, theyve run that place before and it was fine.

Now THIS was the show to book Hogan/Abyss vs. Flair/AJ.

It was a booking decision made because the WWE wanted to show the ECW faithful that WWECW wasn't going to be what they remembered. So rather than give them a show reminiscent of the old ECW, they gave them the pinnacle of sports entertainment at the time.

..which really just made WWE in general look bad, with the fans crapping all over their main event? Was that really their plan, letting a small group of local fans upset Batista enough to make himself look like a jackass, just to send a message to them?

Hogan is monster over in New York, and always has been, so I don't think he would get a negative reaction. Maybe some smarks trying to act cute, but he is at the point in his career where I don't think he would get booed. Plus if this is a house show I doubt Hogan would even be there so it's a moot point. Nash and Sting, I don't know. I'm sure Sting will get a positive reaction based on his career. Nash is more of a wild card since his career, outside of the nWo, wasn't really much. I think people get too worked up about "ECW" crowds. They are overly smarky, but they are not going to shit on everything that doesn't involve "workrate". TNA's roster is good enough as it is from that standpoint, but I'm sure smarky fans know about wrestling history.

As others have stated, that wasn't ONS. That was an episode of ECW on SciFi. They loved the first one, and at the second one they didn't like the finish to Rey/Sabu, and hated Eugene's poetry (but they were supposed to.) Other than that they seemed to dig the second one too. But yeah, I'd love to see TNA air this as a live Impact, because either we'll get priceless crowd reactions like the aforementioned ECW on Sci-Fi episode, or they'll hit a home run out of the park to make sure the fans don't crap on the product on live tv. Who knows, maybe these shows will feature the long rumored Heyman debut?

Eh, the Hammerstein is in midtown Manhattan not too far from the Garden yet you don't hear 'SHE'S GOT HERPES' chants when WWE runs MSG. It's a different audience for a different product and I think TNA should have no problems getting an Impact Zone-like crowd.
The Arena in Philadelphia, though, might be a different story. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere and only smart-oriented promotions run there, so I can definitely see that crowd being much more of a 'smart fan' crowd. I doubt they will burn Dixie in effigy, but they won't go along 100% with the Impact Zone.

And I don't think TNA would draw in the ECW fans. Unless they hardcore advertise RVD, and Dreamer and such as being there... and if they do... I really don't expect good things

Let's not forget "ECW fans" basically became "ROH fans" and they'll go see these guys if you put a decent card together. They will pop hard for Raven,Dreamer,Stevie, etc, but they'll come because they want to see wrestling.
