TNA to run Hammerstein 9/23 and The Arena 9/24

TNA sources confirmed the company shattered their live attendance record for house show events at last night's debut in Brooklyn, NY at MCU Park, drawing between 5,500-6,000 fans.

The company also announced their debut in New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom, which has hosted PPVs for the original and relaunched ECW as well as Ring of Honor live events. The Hammerstein is part of the Manhattan Center complex. TNA has run the upstairs venue in the complex, The Grand Ballroom previously. The official press release for the debut on Thursday 9/23 reads:

New York, NY will host a TNA Live! event on Thursday, September 23 at the Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center at 7:30 pm.

We're planning on attending the Arena show (I work less than a mile from there these days). We were considering hitting up the Asbury Park show today, but then remembered that it's the Jersey Shore on 4th of July weekend... uh, nuh.

I don't think the Hammerstein show is an impact taping, just a house show.

Also, last time I remember TNA running the old arena was right around when Angle had his debut. I remember Rhino doing a promo about keeping ECW dead and that TNA was his new blood or something along those lines. (Funny how all that worked out over the years) Anyways, the fans were said to be very appreciative of the talent and the show went over really well.

I've been to two TNA house shows at the Arena before, its really not like everyone shits on it or anything like that. One had Rhino vs Jarrett, and yeah, Jarrett did get booed out of the building but he was a heel then so yeah. And the other was main evented by Angle vs Abyss right after Angle joined, that show wasn't quite as good but still pretty fun. First one seemed more like an "old ECW" crowd, the second one really didnt.

Yeah, because Hammerstein will shit on RVD, Angle, Joe, Styles, Pope, Hardy, Anderson, Abyss, the ECW vets, etc.

Come on. If TNA runs out a Rob Terry/Tomko main event, then yes, it will end badly. But their roster is good enough to where smarks will not trash the performers. They might chant dumb crap, but they're smarks, that is to be expected.

Yeah I don't see why these crowds would boo anything other than the women on this show. I would assume that Dixie is trying to get Heyman by the time they do these shows so TNA will be in a different direction.

With there current awesome roster, the show should be interesting. And I don't see the women getting boo'ed too since they do respect women's wrestling.

I'm envisioning a "you sold out" chant for RVD. Anderson's going to get booed. Ink, Inc. will get stuff thrown at them. I don't see this being a good show for them.

I'm sure they'll crap all over the current TNA product, but when did they crap on ONS? They really seemed to enjoy both shows.
