So today I got and am currently watching vengeance 06 and the IC match came on and it was as good as you guys made it out to be. But when JR was describing the match it got me to thinking........ Shouldnt a triple threat match feature four guys instead of three? If it was a real triple threat then it would and should have four guys since the champion ya know cant pin himself. A triple threat just by the way it sounds should mean that there are three people threatning the champion so unless the champion is a danger to himself a triple threat should have four guys instead of three right? Right? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ?

Good point. I prefer the ECW termed "Three Way Dance", despite the easy jokes, because it truly is a three way match between the competitors. Also, elimination-style three or four ways are much cooler than the "first to pin someone wins" variety.

Here's a question. How many triple threat's have their been that did not involve a title or a No.1 contendership?

One thing I've always disliked about WWE Triple Threat matches is that for most of the match it's merely one-on-one, with the other guy lying out on the floor for ages at a time.
TNA has some good ones, especially AJ/Daniels/Joe, since all three were usually duking it out at the same time.

They need to make all Triple Threat title matches elimination rules. 3 competitors competing until only one is left.

Well there's three ways the champion could lose. He could get pinned, or one of the other two could get pinned.

If the champion is knocked outside the ring or whatever, and one of the others pin the other guy involved, new champion. So, all three involed are a threat to the outcome.

So, are Triple Threats automatically NO DQ? Say, Edge, Cena and HHH had a TT match, if HHH hits Cena with Sledgie.....HHH would be DQ'd, but who would get the win? Cena because he got hit? Or Do Edge and Cena each part of the the W? So, a "V" in the win column I guess?

Because on the smackdown video games hey were always no DQ, because if one guy is disqualified, no body wins. I guess they just throw the match out.

Now a days I think its No DQ. The old days it would be if a guy got Dqed than he would be out and it would be a 1 on 1 match.
I like the elimination 3 way dance. I wish WWE would use it a few times more just to mix it up.

Well, as mentioned before, the champion IS a danger to himself, assuming he gets himself disqualified (not all triple threats are no DQ). There is no championship advantage in triple threat matches (where the champion can get DQ'd/Counted out and still keep the title), so the champion has to stay on his toes and not get himself disqualified, in addition to the other ways the champion is a threat to himself, as already mentioned.
