His punches on Slater were better than what half the roster can produce at times. Bret will never be the excellence of execution again but he got his credibility back last night.

Yeah, I did. And from a mark's standpoint, him getting DQ'ed may have been lame, but I'm just grateful that WWE did the right thing and prevented him from getting seriously hurt.

The elbows on his downed opponent looked as crisp as ever. He moved around alot better. Looked good to me. I didn't mind the DQ exit. It was played out to look like a smart move by Wade Barrett. Introduce the chair in the ring, distract Bret from what he was doing, and force his elimination. Both Bret and Nexus come out looking strong. I also agree with Nations-Strange. As soon as Bret was eliminated, I said to my friend, "I bet Bret came up with that idea himself."

Bret looked better in 60 seconds last night than he did in 15 minutes at Wrestlemania. I was pleasantly surprised.

I love Bret, but he would be better off in the back training the young guys.. Not out there risking permanent damage. No need for him to be in the ring.. He had his match with Vince on the biggest stage , that should have been it for his in ring career. I see no reason for a 50 some year old stroke victim out there wrestling guys in their 20s. He's had his time. I saw the point of him coming back to wrestle Vince.. But see no point in him in being in a fued with Nexus.. He can be utilized better doing something else. Just my opinion.
He rags on Hogan and Flair for never calling it quits, yet hes doing the same thing and serving no purpose really. I would turn him heel and have him manage nexus. That would be better then watching him wrestle in the ring as a babyface

I thought they used Bret perfectly considering the situation. In reality his offense looked a hell of a lot better than Hogan or Flair's. I'm actually quite impressed with how well the WWE has treated him since his return to be honest. It's almost like they're trying to give a better ending to his WWE career than the one he had in 97. Good for Bret and good for WWE. Hogan maybe yeah but Flair can still get it done pretty well in the ring especially considering how old he is. Bret looked better in 60 seconds last night than he did in 15 minutes at Wrestlemania. I was pleasantly surprised. That's because he was working with McMahon who himself admits that he sucks in the ring. Slater has been wrestling for a while and is pretty good. It's his red hair and face that make people think he isn't good although I'd argue he is better than most of the guys on the main roster.

Not hard to figure out. Nexus tried to maim Bret earlier in the summer with that limo attack. Bret sees the chair, and with still being PO'd over the limo assault, decides to get payback. By disqualifying himself from the match??? If your PO'd enough, you lose your head and therefore forget the rules. This isn't rocket science, people.

Yeah he looked good and I'm glad people are giving Slater credit too. He did a great sell job for Bret.

Booked him perfectly, Slater sold like a maniac and Bret looked pretty snappy with his stuff.
I think much of the complaints with the Vince WM match is simply that it went on so darn long. That and Bret teased the Sharpshooter so many times that people almost didn't care by the end until they were 100% certain he finally had it on.
On this show, they kept it short and sweet. Nice stuff.

I bet Bret still COULD take bumps if he had to. But why would he want or need to risk it?
