I agree with Angle, though it'd be as a heel, given the history with ECW and his bad mouthing it for almost a decade.
William Regal, if allowed to do his thing, along with Fit Finlay, in a traditional, U. K. Catch match, would probably get some respect.
The big thing is to NOT have them come out in their shitty WWE gimmicks.

It's on the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD. Raven and the BWO crucified Sandman and Raven had to go out and apologize becuase it offended the ECW audience. Now that is saying something. You know, it wasn't that bad. In fact, it was more silence than offense. People forget that there was a Cactus Jack shirt that was popular amongst some fans at the arena and on it, Jack was crucified with barbed wire. The apology was done more for Angle than to the fans, I believe, despite what Paul E. might claim. Sandman also thinks the apology was stupid, and I'd agree. I think the only people in the lockeroom who hated it were Joey Styles and Taz. EDIT: and those guys had issues with Heyman and Gordon and Raven because they were Jewish. Sandman isn't, and I know Stevie Richards isn't. I can't speak for Meanie's background, though. Well, to get it out of the way, Richards mentions that 'Meanie's Catholic too' on The Rise and Fall. Though, I mainly quoted you because I just plain don't believe that Taz and Styles had issues with Heyman, Raven and Gordon because they were Jewish. If that were the case, why did Taz and Styles work for the company for so long, and become such mainstays? Wouldn't Heyman and Gordon have had some issues with such a prejudice? Given Taz's obvious grattitude to Heyman for A) taking him on, B) investing stock in him, and mostly, C) taking care of his pay when he was out with a broken neck (on nothing more than a verbal agreement), I can't possibly believe it. As for Joey Styles, that guy is the second-most synonymous, non-wrestling persona of ECW after Heyman. He sure wouldn't still be that if that rumour were true. I think Heyman would've taken the chance and gotten another commentator. It's not exactly a hard thing to do. As for Taz and Styles possibly having had a problem with the Crucufixion incident, that's very reasonable. To say they were anti-Semitic, when both of their bosses were Jewish and they both maintained their jobs throughout most of ECW's run is, I'm sorry, nonsensical.

Well, to get it out of the way, Richards mentions that 'Meanie's Catholic too' on The Rise and Fall. I didn't remember that. The first thing Taz went after Raven about - and this is according ot Raven - was both Raven and Paul E. being Jewis hand that if they were Christian they wouldn't have done it. Raven then made a joke about tying sandman to a Star of David and it rolling away. The way Raven tells it, it was a pretty blatant attack. Joey went on 1wrestling and wrote a silly, stupid diatribe on it and said that if Raven was Chrsitian he'd be offended. Again, doesn't it make it more creedist that he has no beef with Paul but then he brings up his religion when he's offended??? Why did he not attack Sandman, Meanie, or Richards? Being insensitive is one thing, but to bring out the religious difference like Taz and Styels did - that reflects some latent hostility to me. Joey threw tantrums to paul on more than a few occasions. I guess people forget baout "Scoops Watson" filling in for Joey. The reality was, whenever Joey got lippy or greedy Paul E. stuck Watson on there. Joey usually shut up. Before Joey was Jay Sulli and Tod Gordon and Paul E. Joey is the voice of ECW, thogh, and his pbp is as much ECW as Shane Douglas throwing down the NWA title, 911 chokeslamming guys, Sandman pounding cans into his skull, Tommy Dreamer, or RVD doing a Van terminator. You're free to think what you want. I see zeroing in on one person's particular religion as a scapegoat for them being insentitive as being creedist.

so, you don't want scott hall there? As much as I'd like to see Hall in the ring again, I would keep him out of an ECW reunion show. Same goes for Jake Roberts, and every other former WWF star who made a 1-time appearance in ECW. Y'know what I'd like to see? Remember how Tommy Dreamer used to be involved in a strange love triangle with Luna Vachon and Vampire Warrior (Gangrel)? I'd like to see Luna get into a fued with Beulah (Tommy's wife) over Tommy Dreamer. Gangrel and Luna are currently touring the UK with the promotion that developed Shark Boy and Paul Burchill. I for one would totally mark for Lufisto at ONS. After a few minutes in a hardcore match the fans certainly wouldn't be booing.

How about Dan Severn? Yeah, he was buried in WWE but, in a hardcore enviorment, i think he could've excelled.

Are the people that go to the ECW pay-per-views really all that different from WWE ticket-buyers at this point in time, really?
It's just another show, now, not an indy thing.

They would have been eaten alive. They did pop for Matt's mention last year though In response to EDGE. Given how Matt played the fans like a whiny crybaby after the fact, if he showed up they'd heckle him this time, mercilessly. It'd make Jeff Hardy's disasterous reception in ROH seem like a walk in the park, me thinks. ECW fans would chant all kinds of things if they didn't like someone, even put over another person that was unpopular that the object of ridicule had messed with, even if they hated that person they put over. Bizarre, but that's how it could get sometimes.

Who would ECW fans accept? A real John Cena or Prototype mark. John Cena The Prototype kicks ass and is friggen awesome! Besides, he's cool and gets along with everyone.

Both HHH and Cena would have been readilly accepted in ECW.
I also think a monster like batista would be over.
Just about anybody could get over in ECW.
THat speaks more about Heyman than anything else though.

Finley would be a GOD in ecw. Regal, Shelton maybe, London and Kendrick if they were allowed to do everything they're capable of, Booker T maybe.
