I remember an interview HHH did with Power Slam magazine last year in which he was defending his lack of putting people over by saying "What big star ever laid down for me?"
So, I'm asking, what big stars jobbed for HHH to help make his career?
The most obvious one I can think of is Mick Foley as Cactus Jack. Who else? I swear HHH always got the upper hand on Austin on PPV.

I think the problem is that although not many high profile names laid down for HHH, he started his rise to the top just as the top stars of the day, namely The Rock and Stone Cold were starting to wind up their careers.
As a result, his matches with Foley established him as a top star, and he stayed on top by making sure that anyone else on the rise was squashed and held down. During his reign of terror days, he remained the top guy by making sure there were no viable alternatives.
Except for Kurt Angle, of course. But then nothing would have ever been able to keep him down.

I'd definitely say Cactus Jack. Beyond that, you've got Kane, Booker T, RVD, Nash...but HHH was already a star by then...
While I AM a HHH fan, let's not forget this is the guy who had the Hardcore and IC titles killed off because he wanted to be the only champ on RAW at one point (Or was that just NEWZ?)

During that first year of his main-event run he beat Foley numerous times as you mentioned, Rock numerous times including the main-event of WrestleMania, Austin at No Mercy 99, Benoit, Jericho, and basically everyone. He was really unstoppable during that period, probably more so than his reign of terror in terms of actual win percentage in the ring. Big HHH fan, but he got help just like every big star.

To be fair to the wrestlers listed below: *Booker T: Was contemplating retirement in 2003 *RVD: Was a huge liability to other wrestlers, according to Jericho or Angle; he was finally given the title in 2006, only to blow it (no pun intended) with his arrest *Nash: Too injury-prone and lazy That part about HHH killing off almost all singles titles on Raw, that was NEWZ~! just to get the smarks aroused.

Most likely. The WWE wanted an even amount of belts on each show, with both shows having a World Title & a set of Tag Team Titles and 1 other belt that was specific to the brand (The Women's Title for Raw & the Cruiserweight Title for Smackdown). Raw having three extra belts wasn't necessary. By that time the Hardcore & European Titles were pointless anyway, and getting rid of the IC title was obviously a mistake that WWE rectified less than a year later anyway.

He had to beat the Rock to get to it and it was a friggin fatal four way for crying out loud [/10 years later, Matt, get over it]

He never got his rematch to set up his heel turn. It made sense when you think about it, especially when you consider how lackluster his babyface run was.

He never got his rematch to set up his heel turn. It made sense when you think about it, especially when you consider how lackluster his babyface run was. When you put it this way, it makes perfect sense. Show's face run was spent fighting Big Bossman and riding his fake daddy's coffin. And he was CHAMPION at the time.

Triple H was already a multi-time champ by the time Cactus put him over. Most of the people being mentioned weren't really big stars.
The only truly big stars being mentioned here are Austin and Rock, and both of them got loads of victories over Trips too. In fact, the other majorly big star who moved from WCW was Big Show, who jobbed to Trips for the title.
