Prior to Infinite Crisis, there was a one-shot titled "Countdown to Infinite Crisis". In it, Ted Kord uncovers a nefarious plot by Maxwell Lord to eradicate all the metahumans in the world. He's basically laughed off by everyone, and approached by Max to join him in his cause. In a last act of defiance, Ted refuses (he's on his knees here), declaring, "Rot in hell, Max." One moment later, BOOM! Headshot, and Ted is dead. Wow. What a way to go. I really miss comics sometimes. It's even better if you read the Booster Gold: Gold & Blue TPB. Booster Gold tries to save Ted, f***s the timeline up, and Ted repairs it by going to the moment he died. Brilliant story with fantastic characterisation - particularly the genius moment where Batman and Booster Gold talk near the end.

And besides, Booster Gold himself is made of so much win, it's ridiculous. ;D

Picked up the latest issue of Thor. I really hope they continue to focus on Norse elements in this comic and leave his traditional super-hero type stuff for his adventures in the Avengers.

Speaking of Thor, anyone picking up Thor: The Mighty Avenger? From what I've seen of it, seems like a good fun comic.

The Booster Gold series is just awesome. Also I just finished Blackest Night and wow.......Just awesome, I'm pumped up for Brightest day. For Some People The Pacing In Brightest Day Is a Bit Slow I think the pacing is fine though its enjoyable. The Hawks Story Kind of drags on The rest is good though I think Deadman's Story is the best

I'm with the people thinking Brightest Day is dragging.
Too many characters and none of them are really making me care bar Deadman.
The Hawks are never interesting (be it Hawkman and woman or Hawk and Dove), Firestorm should be more interesting than he is and Osiris isnt in the story enough.
On saying that, the prophecy stuff is kinda cool.
On a Thor side note, Fraction takes over next issue and the blurb a while ago was this his arcs intend to take Thor back to Space like the early days of his title with Aliens and Ego and such.

I like hoe Booster Gold is a part of Generation Lost, but his series isn't a tie in, so you aren't forced to get both if you dont care enough (personally, I think everyone should be caring about GenLost as it's a great story, but the point stands)

I know this thread is mainly geared towards Marvel/DC releases, but does anyone else here read IDW's Transformers titles?
I've been snatching up some cheap graphic novels of them from Amazon as of late. I was really digging "All Hail Megatron" because it was interesting to see the Decepticons run roughshod over the damn Earth and the Autobots get exiled on a dead Cybertron.
Their new ongoing series is set during the aftermath of this story. I know there was a lot of crticism of the changing art styles (think of a mix of G1 designs with the multi-paneled-and-kibbled designs of the live-action Movies), but the story is progressing pretty well, from what I've read so far.

I know Fraction takes a lot of shit from people, justifiably so in some case, but I'll read ANYTHING with Ego The Living Planet in it. I love that character something fierce.

And yet, this travesty gets to continue? WHY, LORD, WHY?! Hey, Land's art is horrible, but if the new team is Not Matt Fraction and Greg Land, I'll be happy. I'd rather have bad art and good stories then good art and bad stories. (Then again, until Fraction leaves, looks like we're stuck with both.......AGAIN.)

*cue Final Fantasy victory music* now if only he'd stop writing Iron Man, too. overrated hack, I have no idea why Marvel pushes him so hard. edit: as a side note, does anyone else think that Greg Land is going to be remembered in a few years the way that Rob Liefled is now?

I thought people liked Fraction.
is there a list somewhere of writers that people hate, possibly portable and able to take with me on the go?

The events of one don't affect the other (yet), though.
