Dear goodness... End of the World hurts. Really, really hurts. So, it has something to do with aliens with mind powers, but I really have no clue how to describe it. Although, I think I knew I was in trouble when the movie starts with a telephone exploding, a coffee maker exploding, and a guy sprinting across a diner and diving headfirst through a window because coffee got in his eyes. A completely rational effort, I'm sure. Insanely poor lighting leaves you watching a dark screen with hints of characters moving around in the distance. It's completely dreadful. It's like someone said "Uh-oh, Christopher Lee agreed to be in the movie! What can we sacrifice to pay his salary?" Mind-numbing driving scenes. We just watch people driving to a location. It shows them on the freeway. It shows them rounding a corner to a place we've already established. Seriously, if you've already been there once, you do NOT need to show the main couple taking a couple turns to get there. Just get on with it! The plot takes forever to get going and then they just vomit exposition in one scene. Exposition that makes absolutely no sense. I got the gist of what was happening, but that didn't help at all. The ending...is stupid. So...so...so...so...stupid. And yes. I would pause with each and every ellipses. It's that bad. {Spoiler}The main alien announces that they're destroying Earth because it has created so many viruses and caused so much pollution that it could hurt the rest of the universe (Hooray! A message!). So he steps through his "time warp" to go home, the main couple follows.
Earth Explodes. It's full of glitter. The sound of the explosion echoes IN SPACE as credits role. It was like someone extended a Twilight Zone episode. An abysmal, horrible, "Rod Serling would've never approved it but maybe if the executives pushed him hard by threatening cancellation he'd relent but ask for his name to not be on it" episode...but an episode just the same. Next time, I just trust what Christopher Lee says. I took notes during it. Re-reading it...I apparently lost my mind at one point because I don't remember writing such angry things in all caps. Usually when people write about bad movies on here, I kinda sorta want to see them anyway just because they sound "so bad they're good" or some equivalent. But I can definitely report that you did your job there, MD, because I have zilch interest in seeing that flick. The *MESSAGE* in particular sounded maddening.

Silly me, I hadn't realize that the TCM rights were now owned by Lionsgate. I don't know really what to think. Are they just going to turn out crappy sequels like Saw? Ideally, another sequel would be great, but at what cost to the franchise? And if Jason does move to Lionsgate, will Freddy not be far behind? I kinda hope Jason doesn't move again, if only for the fact of having to deal with three movie studios with seperate entries in the series.

I don't think Freddy is going to move. Whatever is the cost, that's New Line Cinema's first born child right there. Moving him and the ANOES franchise to another distributor would just be sacrilegious. Not just that, but with New Line owned by a big shot like Warner Bros., I don't see that happening.
Jason on the other hand...that's a completely different story. Maybe they are looking for a Saw replacement for October.

So...Scream Queens 2 debuted on VH1 tonight. I was watching RAW, but the repeat is on now.
EDIT: Just got done watching it. Plenty of fun, watching girls tap into their rage by beating up pumpkins. One girl even ripped her shirt off like Hulk Hogan!
The show just ain't the same without James Gunn...but I find Jamie King hotter than Shawnee Smith, so her appearance is a plus.

Yeah; because we've never had a string of crappy Friday The 13th sequels pumped out on a regular basis before... Oh wait.

Still I can't imagine Lionsgate would bring anything new to the series that won't water it down more.

Okay, no one told me that Uwe Boll's Alone in the Dark had a sequel.
And that it stars Lance Henriksen.
And has Danny Trejo in it.
And is universally panned.
...
Yeah, I'm probably going to end up seeing it eventually.

The IMDB lists a sequel to A Nightmare On Elm Street as being in development. Has anyone heard if it's been confirmed as happening yet?
