Just saw this little piece of news

Doug Bradley not being Pinhead would be like Robert Englund not being Fre...oh. Uh...Well, at least that one had the excuse of being a remake.
Anyway, the last few movies haven't used Pinhead all that much but still used him to sell the film. Him not being apart of it is going to keep a lot of people from watching it.
Also, at this point in the series, what chance is there of obtaining an actual good script? I mean...even Bradley hated this one? What kind of sign is that?
So, without going on a long winded babble, this news disheartens me to a sequel.

so I'm hearing that piranha 3d is getting good reviews. anyone see it? I did last night and it's great. I wouldn't really call it "horror" but instead "exploitation". It's mostly boobs and gore. In 3D. But all the actors are great in it, the gore effects are great and the overall tone is pretty cheesy. However, I don't know how well it'll do in the box office. The theater I saw it in wasn't even half-way full.

It isn't for everybody, but i'm sure that down the line, this could be a cult favorite with the crowd. The wet t-shirt massacre is going to wind up in many people's "Best Of" lists down the road. It's cool.

It's cool. Seeing it at #6 was kinda disappointing but it already made almost half it's budget (which is kinda surprising for a 3D movie) so it'll probably make it's money back, at least.

Yesterday at my local Big Lots I picked up a 3 pack of DVDs for 3 bucks.
The first is a double feature of CARNIVAL OF SOULS and NIGHT TIDE.
The second is a collection of Bela Lugosi pictures: THE APE MAN, DEVIL BAT, THE HUMAN MONSTER, and WHITE ZOMBIE.
The third is a collection of non-horror pictures starring Edmond O'Brien, including the classic noir thriller D.O.A.
So yeah, basically a bunch of public domain stuff. But hey, I got 10 movies for 3 bucks. So, that's cool.

While on topic of Piranha 3D, I found it to be very entertaining. Alexandre Aja never lost tracking of the cheesy feel, unlike Scott Charles Stewart did with Legion. It's a bloody good time at the theater, with the 3D effects being really well-done. And this is coming from somebody who isn't a fan of 3D.

Am I the only one that hates the idea that The Last Exorcism is rated PG-13? Seems like a hard-R rated film to me.

I am so excited for that series. It's just really surprising that the stars came together to get the Walking Dead made by Frank Darabont for AMC.

Any fans of the movie Child's Play should check out the DVD (or Blu-Ray, I guess). It has some really cool extra featuers including a vintage "Making Of" that covers how they created the Chucky dolls used in the movie.

I have the bare-bones DVD and have been considering upgrading it (something I rarely do) solely for the Alex Vincent commentary (I'm curious as to what he's been up to lately, as I felt he could have went on to be a bigger star). That making of Chucky feature seals the deal for me.

Though it's not exactly horror movie related, I did get my shipment from Electric Zombie today. If you didn't know, Electric Zombie is a guy who does a lot of horror-related shirts and merchandise. He was running a big sale to get rid of a bunch of his old stuff so I managed to snag a couple shirts (One that says "Never Sleep Again" and one of the gun-training bullet sheets, only with a zombie on it) and a couple fake movie posters (One called "Chopping Block" with an axe-wielding maniac and one called "Stripped" with a bunch of strippers dancing around a giant chainsaw acting as a pole). I'm particular pumped about the posters as they have a great Grindhouse feel to them. I went out and bought some cheap frames for them and I hope they'll stay up as I had to maneuver around my computer desk and dresser to hang them up. Anyway, I snagged them all up for less than $40 (which included shipping) Anyway, I'd post pics of the posters but I don't know if they're exactly safe for the board. But here's the link to his site if you want to check any of his other stuff out. I don't know if you can get a lot of it anymore though as he only prints in limited quantities and when they're gone, they're gone. Hell, he's actually thinking of stopping printing in XL sizes because apparently no one but me buys them.

theryno665: The poster for "RED TIDE" is actually just one of the posters for the original HUMANOIDS FROM THE DEEP, but with a different title slapped on:
