Sometimes a multi character TV show starts featuring one character so much people just starts calling it The (insert character name here) Show.
What are some of the worst examples of this? And which shows actually benefitted from it (if any)?

Fonzie eyyyyyyy! Jumping the shark eyyyyyy! I always liked the Jumping The Shark theory, given Happy Days went on for 5 more years afterwards and the viewership increased. It reminds of people who don't do any research [or read an interview in passing] and spout other peoples opinions.

I apologize if you weren't referring to me with your post, but I was making a joke with the jumping the shark thing since it's the only thing so many people who've never seen the series know of it. I know that Fonzie originally had a different-colored jacket (IIRC it was beige) and was a minor character. He just essentially became the lead later in the series due to his incredible popularity, and that's what the topic's about.

The Simpsons turning into The Homer Show around seasons 11/12.
Not that I'm complaining, I find jackass Homer hilarious, I love most of those episodes.

Not that I'm complaining.

Family Matters turning into The Urkel Show is one that comes to mind. It's like Big Bang Theory becoming The Sheldon Show (which I don't mind because he is the funniest character in the cast).

I always thought jumping the Shark was "the show is good but it was never the same after ________" Like the start of the slow decline of quality not necessarily viewership.

I was going to say this, but this season they seem to have course corrected this a bit. This season feels much more like the ensemble show it was meant to be.

It seems like South Park's turned into the Randy Marsh Show as of late. Not really. He's really only had 2 side plots this whole season.
