Honestly though, was he worth any of the s*** that's come with him this year? They paid him 20 million dollars to win 5 games and essentially be the focus ahead of the entire orginization Well they became a bit of a running joke what with Randy Moss and all.

Moss, as much as a headache as he may have been, was just the icing on the shit cake. Damage was done

^ Yea, I just mean it was a disaster waiting to happen, what with their team getting older and the scandal with Favre, then Moss, NOW the end of the streak. Just seems like a season to forget for Vikes, and it's not all Brett's fault.

Just seems like a season to forget for Vikes, and it's not all Brett's fault. As much as I dislike Brett even I have to admit you have to be pretty foolish to blame only him for this season. Childress and Brett both should absolutely shoulder a lot of the blame. At the end of the day, the Vikings front office deserves some heat too. They allowed this all to happen. Letting Brett hold them up because they were too shortsighted to have a backup plan, the Moss disaster which even Helen Keller could have seen coming, to allowing Childress to completely lose his team. How they have escaped this unscarred is beyond me

And yes Favre said he was done but he made the Packers relevant again and they forced him out for a QB that has yet to accomplish anything despite just as many people sucking him off. Why the beef with Rodgers? The guy stepped into a nearly impossible situation and has handled it extremely well. Not to mention he just turned 27, and is awesome.

I think the thing about Brett Farve is that there's no middle ground with him. There's either " I love Brett Farve , he's got alll these records so I don't care about his off the field stuff." or there's" I hate farve all he does is throw picks and act like a child off the field." and I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I don't think he's as good as Young or Montana or Brady or Manninning or even Elway. but I do think he's a hall o f famer and a first ballad one at that but people also have to take in all the costly INTS he throw. regardless of wether or not he threw him with good intentions. Good intentions don't win superbowls and they don't make you the greatest Qb of alll time.

Giants Defense is having their way with the Vikings. Hope they're paying for dinner lately.
Also I think a lot of the Vikings' poor play this year HAS to be on the O-Line's shoulders. Sure, Favre throwing picks left and right didn't help, but they gave him NO protection whatsoever. Those pockets folded worse than a 6 high poker hand.

Wow, I stepped away for the afternoon and missed the final confirmation that Favre is gone. Also from reading the last thread, I can't help but laugh. EVERY time Brett has "retired", ESPN has gone overboard in treating him like he just died. Back in the Summer when there was no confirmation what so ever, they canceled all of their afternoon programing to show specials and retrospectives of him for 5 hours. Then the next day it was all for nothing. Pretty sure we've all seen everything Brett has ever done, ever. EVER. I don't think there's much from this season that needs to be inserted in those highlights, short of one game. Just spare us. We've seen Brett's non-death funeral 4 times already. Let us watch the rest of the season and playoffs in peace ESPN. It's not over until they've used Sarah MacLachlan's "Angel" or "I Will Remember You"

Completely agree and who can forget that bloody facemask call last year in his FIRST EVER playoff game. Yes he's done less than Flacco or Big Ben but he isn't that bad. Rodge is a friggin' good player.

So what is Minnesota going to do for a quarterback next year? Kevin Kolb can do a job for a team built around him.

Of course Flacco, Sanchez, BB and the such have done more but the guy isn't that bad. I don't think anyone bigs him up that much, he plays his heart out on (let's face it) a bad team.
