It has also been said that Tommy Angel, George South, Stu Schwartz, and "Fabulous" Jackie Fargo will be in attendance, at least for the Hall of Heroes ceremony if not more.

Of course this year will also feature the Hall of Heroes induction. This year's awards ceremony, hosted by Jim Cornette, will honor eight great "heroes" from wrestling's past: Joe Blanchard (inducted by Tully Blanchard), Danny Hodge (inducted by Jim Ross), Mr. Wrestling II (inducted by The Assassin), Reggie Parks, Billy Robinson (inducted by Terry Funk), Greg Valentine, the late Johnny Valentine and "Mr. Wrestling" Tim Woods (inducted by the Assassin)

Adam Pearce will be on hand to defend the NWA title on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's match will be vs. the #1 contender, while Sunday's will be vs. the winner of Saturday's "Future Legend's Cup." Kamala has also been announced as taking part in Saturday's matches.

This year will also feature a "Breakfast with Champions." A full breakfast buffet will be served, and Harley Race and the Funks will be in attendance. Cost is $40.

Bill Apter will be hosting "Apter's Antics," which will apparently be an opportunity for fans to do impersonations, cut promos, and who knows what else. Details haven't really emerged, but it should be interesting, especially with a bar on premises.

In a move that is guaranteed to make her some money, Sunny will be offering a poolside bikini photo op. Price is $35 on pre-order, $40 at Fanfest.

Several fundraisers will be held, with the ultimate goal being an actual brick and mortar Hall of Heroes. Returning from last year will be a raffle for a custom Dave Millican-made Hall of Heroes championship belt, featuring the likenesses of this year's inductees.

There are also plans for 4 silent auctions, 2 of which have been confirmed: a poolside dinner with Sunny following the photo ops, and a spot as guest ring announcer for the Pearce/Danielson match on Saturday night.

In news that certainly pleased yours truly, this year will offer another managers group photo op, featuring Bobby Heenan, Jim Cornette, Percy "Paul Bearer" Pringle, General Skandar Akbar, and Sir Oliver Humperdink. You'd best believe the Playboy has already ordered his.

I cannot wait for the Convention personally. I am working the convention this year again. I wil be refereeing the 2 shows on Saturday and Sunday. I was one of the two referees for Greg's 2 NWA New Beginnings shows. I refereed the 2 NWA World Title Matches down there inculding the NWA World Title Change back to Adam Pearce in March.

I can not stress enough how fun this event is.
My wife and I go every year. She tells all the guys its like my Christmas.
Last year we hung out with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and his wife, Jerry saggs (he hit on my wife all night ), Lacy Von Erich, Erik Wattss, Reid Flair, Ric's new wife, Ox Baker, etc.

Last year my wife was acting like she was going to chop me. Al lthe boys started yelling... "DO IT! DO IT!"
I lifted up my shirt and I said "lay it in stiff."
She chopped me and it echoed through the lobby.
All the guys laughed. Hacksaw said she would make a helluva heel and then Erik Watts taught us the proper way to chop.

The year before I had a great time hanging out and talking to Buddy Roberts and his son, did shots with ODB and Daffney, talked to Scott Hall, listened to Ole Anderson tell old school stories and had a great conversation with JJ Dillon.

August really can't come soon enough. This is looking like possibly the best fanfest yet. Out of all the names so far I'm looking forward to meeting Good Ol' J.R. the most. I did not think he would end up coming but I am glad he did.

Also don;t forget about the Q and A's. No names has been announced but there is one Thursday night from 7 to 9 which is followed by a photo op and then another from 10 till midnight. Last year had the great Flair/Race starcade tribute Q/A and then the hilarious Jim Cornette Q/A.

How did I forget to mention the Q&As?

Those are always a great time. It was neat looking over during the Ric & Harley Q&A last year and seeing Jim Cornette sitting in the next row listening with the rest of us.

As others have mentioned, there's always great moments that aren't advertised as part of the ticket price. The lobby, the bar, the smoking area outside, you never know who you'll run into and how cool they'll be.

A little moment I thought was cool happened during the Saturday night matches in '08. The main event was the Beautiful People (Velvet & Angelina) vs ODB & Daffney. When they announced Daffney as being from Badstreet USA, I heard someone behind me start laughing. I turned and looked and it was Buddy Roberts.

The usual events aside, this could be a busy year for me. It's looking now like my dad may get to go again after all, it would be cool to meet some of the folks from this place, and some of the In Your Head Online crew are wanting to meet up as well.

I'm fully expecting this year to be fantastic even by the usual standards.

Just got my room at the Hilton today and ordered my tickets earlier this week. So I'm officially ready

also "Action" Mike Jackson has been added as a Vendor Guest. for those who don't know him, he is a 60 year old man who has TORE THE HOUSE DOWN every year in the weekend matches moving like a young ROH star.

I'm wondering about this first time guest. A lot of people are, I think, getting carried away with the thought that "first time guest" means it's a huge name (Savage, Austin, Undertaker) and I don't believe that's the case.

I expect it to be a good name that just hasn't done the convention circuit before. I have no idea who it will be, but I'm afraid some people will end up disappointed because they've got their hopes up to an unrealistic level.

Modified the original post to include Beefcake as the latest vendor guest. Still no word on the 21st official guest, though Greg Price made it a point to announce that Jerry Lawler will not be there, since people kept speculating, even after being told it would not be him.

I'm doubting it. HBK, to me, seems more like a platinum level guest, like Sting this year or Flair in '08. I think a lot of people have taken, "Never done a convention before" to mean "huge name" and that's not necessarily the case. As Greg himself said, there are dozens of legends who have never done a convention.

I still have no idea who it will be, but I kind of wish he would announce it already. Everyone wants to know, and of course, it would end the speculation.
