More bad news for the proposed new Florida wrestling project going by the name of WWP (Worldwide Wrestling Promotions). Mr. Saint Laurent, who was working as the head of talent relations for the company, quit this week citing breach of contract.
The company (which has yet to officially debut let alone give any important details) has debuted a new Twitter account at twitter.com/OfficialWWP where they stated they have signed former WWE star Shawn Spears (who wrestled as Gavin Spears on ECW). They have also signed former TNA referee Rudy Charles and are promoting future signing announcements via their Twitter page.--- Just saw like 10 minutes ago that theyve signed Kenny Dykstra to a contract also. Hopefully they dont sign any old guys.

I hope this wrestling promotion goes on the Sunshine Network. And I do hope it is full of young people.

"OfficialWWP I'd like to go on record and close the door on rumours that we're persuing Scott Hall, Vader & the like. We take pro-wrestling seriously."

I hope this place does hit it big. Shawn Spears is an awesome talent. I've ranted and raved before about the "opportunity" he, Cabana and Jay Bradley got. They got a chance to swing at bat, but instead of getting a bat, they get a noddle. But hey, it's still an opportunity, right? Right??? f***.

It's really a shame WWE dropped the ball with Spears. He at least could have done something on NXT if he were still around, or I even could have seen him in the SES. Hopefully he'll get a good push if WWP ever gets off the ground.

FYI, Spears denied he has talked to WWP, let alone signed with them, on Twitter.

FYI, Spears denied he has talked to WWP, let alone signed with them, on Twitter. Oh well. Hopefully he'll find some place to get on television.

Wait wait wait wait... ...Memphis Wrestling is finished?! WTF??? sadly, yes Of all the left overs from the teritorial system Memphis outlasted them all. I guess lousey payoffs and booking the same champion over and over for 30 years dosn't mean death to a wrestling promotion. They ran lawler on top for 30+years and paid s*** and uet stayed open for this long.

FYI, Spears denied he has talked to WWP, let alone signed with them, on Twitter. I have been told that there was a bit of confusion w/ Spears and that some talents werent aware of the twitter page, which would explain why Shawn said "I am?". He never denied it as such. Doane and Spears are both solid talents. Im pumped for this!!

I will still be very suprized if this thing happens at all. If it does I doubt it lives up to what the IWC had made it out to be.

It truly feels like local wrestling promotions mean nothing anymore.
