I know they meant that as a joke, but it seems eerily like what happened to the show.

If my timing is correct, this aired after either "The Otto Show" (April 23rd, 1992), or "Bart's Friend Falls in Love" (May 7th, 1992)
Or the likely rerun that aired the week of the final Cosby Show ep (April 30th, 1992).

*Shrugs* I don't really recall when/where the series got stagnant. I'm still very entertained by the new episodes.

They ditched the aping of Family Guy (dad is an idiot, what will he do this week!), and returned to character episodes, which is what they did when the show was great. For the first time in years we have had episodes highlighting Springfieldians and learning us more about them.

Incredible. Although some recent episodes have been good, I LOVED the baseball one, if only for the fact that they referenced Mike Scoscia working at the power plant/.
