I just got the Droid X but I'll be switching back to the iPhone now.
Why? Because quite simply, there's NO smartphone that has a music player even close to the iPhone. Droid X SUCKS as a music player.

I've got an iPod so there's nothing that the iPhone offers that I couldn't get with a Droid X. Unless there's something I haven't heard about or if the price is significantly less (which I doubt).

I'm in no rush to get a smartphone, but I'm glad to have more options for when I do.

While it's nice that the Phone plays music, everyone and their momma has an IPod so I can't see this being a deal breaker for someone.Plus it sucks the battery out even more.

Interesting to me. ATT sucks at my house but I am not sure how Verizon is. Only negative is ATT allows voice and data at the same time where Verizon cannot.

I think another issue with this is it doesn't work overseas and it can't do voice and data at the same time.

I think another issue with this is it doesn't work overseas and it can't do voice and data at the same time. These issues plus others(was originally gonna work with 4g, but was officially announced to only work on 3g, etc) are gonna cause me to hold off on one. The Verizon iPhone 4 is already going to not be as fully featured as it's AT&T counterpart as it is, in addition to the upcoming iphone 5, and this particular model looks very easy to pass up. Hopefully Verizon/Apple change/modify their structure(s) to make the phones more-or-less on even-footing(without just nerfing the AT&T Iphone).

I am really excited. I've wanted an iPhone for a long time. You do lose the voice+data thing, but honestly, I'm used to not having it as an option, so not a huge loss to me. I also like the idea of hotspotting. I have an iPad, and that really appeals to me for on the go stuff. I know I will be buying one come February 3rd.

Cool news for those who want iPhone with a decent network. I'd still rather have a Droid 2 or 3 or whatever the new one with 4G will be called. I just like the Android OS a lot more than the iOS, along with just not being a big fan of Apple as a company. And it also has free Angry Birds. Now we need the AT&T Droid! *waits* *waits* *dies* AT&T already has a pretty decent selection of Android-based phones.
