I have enjoyed Lennon's post Beatle albums very much. I've always put his solo stuff tops among the rest of the fab four. Everyone probably knows and appreciates stuff like "Imagine" but for my money Plastic Ono Band was a near perfect album. Maybe not as great as the very best Beatles albums but it would rank in the top 7 -8 against those.

I'd have to agree. I've always enjoyed Lennon's solo work FAR more than the work with the Beatles.
Can't say the same for McCartney, though. He wasn't bad, but he's turned into a bad parody of himself as of late.

Lennon's stuff on Double Fantasy is his best after his Beatles stuff.

I've got a copy of Double Fantasy still in the shrink wrap. Found it when we were moving my grandfolks, and decided that if it hadn't been missed in 25 years, it was mine for the taking.

God no. Lennon made Plastic Ono Band, which was amazing. Then he made Imagine, which was extremely good. Then he made terrible albums with handfuls of good songs and singles for five years, then disappeared, then came back and made a decent album, which was Double Fantasy. For one of music's most important figures, he made some awful music in his time.
