And me with a birthday in October. f*** yes.
I'd be a very happy YAK if it included the theatrical cuts as well, but that isn't too likely.

I'll probably pick up the OT. I don't have much interest in owning the prequels in any format.

I hope I have a Blu-Ray player by then. Will definitely pick up the set with all 6.

Let me know when they release the original versions of the movies in 1080p/Master Audio from a 2-4k scan of the best possible elements.

It appears if you want the special features you have to buy the complete saga set with all 6 films. There is a PT set with no features and a OT set with no features and a Complete Saga set with 9 discs which include the 6 films and 3 special features discs.

(Although I was always going to save up get the version of the COMPLETE saga when it came out with series-spanning comprehensive features, no matter the format) Now, if you'll excuse me... *Searches for best outfit in which to sell self on the street for money*

Amazon has preorder up for the complete set for $89.99 No. f***in'. Way. Is that price locked if you order now? Also, if you pre-order, your card isn't charged until the item ships, right?

As long as they put the Empire of Dreams documentary that was on the original DVD trilogy set, then i'm good.

Well since they have a price match it makes sense for them to wait til it ships to charge.

Is there any real difference between Blue Ray and DVD quality in any form?

So minor audio and visual aspects along with putting some extras on them to wring out a few extra pieces of cash? Thought as much.

So minor audio and visual aspects along with putting some extras on them to wring out a few extra pieces of cash? Thought as much. They really aren't minor changes. I'd say its as big a difference as going from VHS to DVD, especially where sound is concerned. With that said, there certainly isn't anything particularly lacking about a DVD image either, so if it isn't worth the upgrade to you that's fine too. I only got an HDTV because my regular one broke, and a Blu-Ray because it was a gift. I've enjoyed it though. One major plus is that unlike VHS to DVD, all Blu-Ray players can still play (and even upscale a tiny bit) regular DVDs. I'm still torn on whether or not upgrading the movies I already own is worth it though.

If you have an HDTV, the difference between Blu-Ray and DVD is fairly drastic. All of the fragmentation and slight pixellation on DVDs is gone with Blu-Ray. The picture is REALLY crisp. The sound quality also receives a HUGE boost considering the difference between storage space of DVD and Blu-Ray. I suppose it just depends on whether or not you care.

So far I've only watched 2 Blu-Rays, but hearing voices and ridiculous jumps in volume have not been an issue like it was in the past with DVDs (to the point where I'd watch things with the subtitles on sometimes)
