So if I pre-order this it won't lock in the price? That sucks.. It will lock it in for what you pre-ordered it for, it won't go higher. It can go lower though ( I assume you ordered through Amazon ).

Amazon.ca has dropped their price to $99 now, closer to the American price. So I switched my order, and I doubt it will go any lower then this

If it IS only the "Special" Editions, then I hope Lucas at least fixes the overwhelming audio and video problems with the 2004 DVDs.

I guess this is a good reason to put off watching movies I bring from home even if thats not my intention. I have had SW ep 3-6 here with me for at least a year but haven't gotten around to watching them and its been MUCH LONGER since i've bothered with 1 & 2 so I might be suprised and actually come to accept them as part of the saga when it comes out on blu ray. It worked with Batman & Robin so anything is possible. So i'll probably cave in and buy the whole set due to my past as a Star Wars mark. Those extra disks have piqued my interest.
I just hope this is the last re-re-re-re-release of the saga.

These aren't the awful "Special Editions" of the original trilogy that got released in theaters in the late nineties with the out of place CGI effects, right? If so, then I'm down to get them.

I'm Sorry but that's a deal breaker for me (Jedi Rocks was bad enough) Yes, that too! But what I was talking about are things like this: In the first film, there are several scenes where John Williams' classic score is drowned out and completely buried in the sound mix. Like the TIE Fighter attack on the Millenium Falcon and especially during the X-Wing attack on the Death Star. It kind of kills those scenes. The color timing is WAY off on a lot of scenes, too. A lot of scenes in "Empire" and "Jedi" have an overwhelming bluish tint. And, no, it's not just my TV. Everything else looks the way it's supposed to. And what in the blue f*** happened to the lightsaber effects? Instead of bright like in the theatrical versions and prequels, they look flat and washed out. I don't know what they did to them in 2004, but it's atrocious. Here's an example using one of the most iconic shots from the series. 1983 and 1997 versions. 2004 DVD version What the Hell happened here? Fix it! And get Hayden out of Return of the Jedi!

How did I not notice that before??? Now I'm tempted to rewatch now just to look for other flaws. Seriously lightsabers cant cut through other lightsabers.

There's also a bit when Ben is training Luke with the flying ball on the Falcon where Luke's saber turns green for no apparent reason, but I couldn't find a screencap.

And If Lucas is feeling Charitable *Snicker* get rid of Jedi Rocks, I don't think ANYONE likes that scene. Seriously, what the hell was he thinking with that f***ing scene! I'm one of the most tolerant fans around when it comes to the Special Editions, and don't really mind most of the changes but this asinine scene just kills the whole first act for me. So f***ing stupid!! That's the only change you'll ever see me up in arms about.

One of the things that I actually liked about the 97 Special Editions that was taken out in the 04 set pisses me off even more because of what they replaced it with.
At the end of ROTJ, when they show the different planets celebrating, in the 97 version, there's a scene where they show Coruscant, which had become home to Imperial City, where celebrators tear down a statue of Palpatine. This was removed in the 04 version and replaced with Naboo and a celebrator says the thing that makes me and my friend absolutely cringe:
WE-SA FREE!!!
Now, keep in mind, my friend has actually stated that he never minded Jar Jar and the Gungans (I kinda do), but this scene just pisses him off.

What exactly is the "Jedi Rocks" scene? I've never seen the 2004 dvds I'm sorry. That damn scene, When he came up with that was the exact moment lucas lost his marbles. I don't know why it's still there No one likes it (Even my 6 year old Nephew thinks it's dumb). Although I do like how Boba Fett just walks out like he's probably thinking "f*** this s***, I'm out of here"

I want him to fix the whole "Greedo shoots first" problem. I'll be ok with Hayden in Jedi (even though I hate it) if Lucas fixes this. Doubt he will of course.
I'll buy the whole set because I want it on blu-ray, but without a doubt this is not the last time they will be released. The 3D versions are coming out so that'll be another set.

I love the little scene with Boba Fett hitting on the dancer, but the musical number is just such trash.
