Same reason the Seahawks beat the Saints earlier, major f***-ups by the Saints defense, especially Roman Harper blowing several coverages that held to at least 3 of Hasselbeck's 4 TD passes. While you're right, I also think that it's clear the Saints completely underestimated the Seahawks I think EVERYONE completely underestimated the seahawks.

That's why Brady > Manning Yeah, Peyton really blew that tackle on Cromartie that gave the Jets the ball on the 40 yard line. He certainly wasn't great tonight, but he wasn't bad either. No, he wasnt bad at all But career playoffs speak for themselves. Brady is better. Period.

God, Jets, please keep the momentum going and win next week. I want Patriot fans disappointed, disheartened and somehow pry their lips from Tom Brady's ass. I want Danny Woodhead rendered useless. I want to see Brodney Pool crush Wes Welker when he goes over the middle. I want Belichick's legacy spat upon, the team's purported greatness stepped on, their season ended, and their fans crushed. Not too much to ask, right? Go Jets. Welcome to the darkside.

Good job by the Seahawks and Jets. Hope they enjoy the ass kicking they're gonna get next week.
I hope Brady buries the Jets Triple H style.

I hate all the hype and talk about Pats/Jets, I hate getting a cocky feeling because it didn't workout to well the last time.
So I'll probably say this few time this week, but that Pats need to take it 1 play at a time, 1 quarter at a time and if they can't get pumped up and play there best against, then shame on them lol

I think someone requested this image? That is the look of utter shock and devastation. His defense failed him, and he was helpless.

I keep hearing on the sports shows that the Seahawks beating the Saints was the upset of the ages. That doesn't even come close to an upset of the ages. James Madison beating Virginia Tech in football or Chaminade beating Virginia in 1982 was an upset of the ages. The Seahawks was an average team that beat a defending Super Bowl Champion that wasn't quite as good as they were the year before and they beat them on there own home field.

I'd argue Appalachian St. beating Michigan is the best upset I have ever seen.

Comparing college upsets to pro sports upsets is apples and oranges dude.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora confirms that Ravens FS Ed Reed (personal, ribs) will play Sunday at Kansas City.
He'll do so with a "heavy heart" after his brother went missing in Louisiana Friday. Reed made Saturday's team flight to Arrowhead.

I'm pretty sure the sports media were saying the same things in 2000 when the Saints beat the defending Super Bowl champion Rams in the wildcard round in the Superdome for their ever playoff victory("Hakim dropped the ball") or the Patriots beating the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI the following year.

Seriously Saints, did you guys forget to bring the defense with you? Our defense last year would have destroyed Hasselbeck. Four touchdowns? Was anyone covering those guys? I watched at least one of them jog into the end zone with no coverage and just turn around, stand and catch the ball. Give me a break. I will stand corrected though. I expected Hasselbeck and Sanchez to get 8 combined picks. I was wrong.

That too. A few more: The Falcons and Michael Vick going into Lambeau and beating St. Brett of Thekidoutthere and the Pack in the snow(where they had never lost a playoff game when it snowed at kickoff) in 2003. The Vikings beating the Joe Montana/Jerry Rice 49ers at Candlestick in the Divisional Playoffs in 1987.
