So I wake up this morning and I'm looking for the " NFC West doesn't deserve a playoff spot " haters. Where oh where did these people go? Surely nothing happened yesterday that could have possibly changed such strong opinions. Right? Seattle wouldn't have finished higher than third place in any other division in the league, and yet we're supposed to applaud them for stumbling into the playoffs and winning a home game against a wounded team? Worst team in playoff history? Judgment call. (Although 7-9 with a 3rd place schedule in the worst division in the NFL is still hard to respect). Least deserving playoff team in NFL history? Obviously. I could say a lot of these same things about the Colts in terms of winning a weak division by default, but at least they actually showed up in the games they lost. It just makes a bigger argument for either larger divisions or giving the home game to the team with the better record in the playoffs.

Eh, just because Seattle won, doesn't invalidate the idea that it's sorta ludicrous for a team with a losing record to get a playoff spot.
In a league with one and done playoffs and a large amount of parity between teams; it's not a huge shock for any one team to beat another, despite the whole 'upset' factor.
That doesn't take away from Seattle's win, they played well and obviously were the better team on the field yesterday; but again, them winning doesn't negate the earlier argument on whether or not a division winner with a worse record than some other teams should get in above those latter teams.
If they go all the way, I'll adjust my statement and admit to being wrong ( so feel free to quote it for future reference if you want), but I don't think I'm going to be.

Dear Braylon: Talking smack about the Patriots damn near always blows up in people's faces. You sir, are an idiot. Please, keep running your mouth Signed. A Pats fan that has seen this before

If you win your division your reward is that home playoff game. If the Saints wanted a home playoff game they should have won their division. If the Giants wanted to make the playoffs they should have tackled DeSean Jackson. If the Bucs wanted to make the playoffs they shouldnt have lost to the Lions.

It's not a new argument. In the Championship playoffs in England, the teams placed 3rd through 6th battle to gain promotion to the Premier League. More often than not, the 6th placed team, who sometimes are behind the 3rd placed team by at least 10 points, end up getting promoted. Tough luck is all it is, the 3rd placed team should have finished 2nd and got automatically promoted.

Didn't post my playoff picks but this weekend I chose Jets, Seahawks, Ravens, and, of course, the Eagles.

Their defense should have played better in that fourth quarter. The playoff seeding is correct the way it is; there's no need to change it and to use Seattle's upset as an excuse makes no point. A few weeks ago, everyone was back on the Saints' bandwagon after beating the Falcons 17-14 and people proclaimed this as a HUGE win. Comment this post; I would love to have a debate.

Justify to me how six games against the Niners, Rams, and Cardinals and only winning seven on the year is more worthy than having to play six against the Falcons, Saints, and Panthers or Eagles, Cowboys, Redskins and still winning TEN is in any way equal. Saying "well you win the division, you're the best" is a terrible argument. Especially when they actually played head to head against the two teams they beat out and lost by a combined score of 79-22. Two teams who had a better record than them by a combined six. I can't believe people are actually trying to argue this aside from "well it's just how the NFL does it".

Consider this as well: If Garrett Hartley makes a 29 yd chipshot in OT in Week 3, then the Falcons fans would be the ones complaining.
