The "obscure 80's/90's" kids show thread made me consider this;
When I was five years old, I watched a martial arts film revolving around this white dude fighting...gang members? I think? Anyway, the key thing I remember is that he got better at fighting (or at least that's what it seemed like) when the people around him started chanting some kind of Jamaican rhyme scheme.
...I know this all sounds really vague, but SOMEBODY has to know what I'm talking about. This has been bothering me for years and years. Anyone? Anyone at all?

Anything else you remember about the film?

Only thing that comes to mind from reading that is Only the Strong.

The only thing I specifically remember is that at one point, the main character fought a dude in a chop shop, wearing a big face mask and a bunch of leather, so whenever he hit him, the guy wouldn't feel anything.
The main problem with trying to remember this movie is that I don't know who played the hero. It wasn't Van Damme, Norris, or even Segal. I'm fairly certain it was an early nineties flick, so I'm not thinking of any 80's or 70's martial arts flicks.

Man, I was way off. The lead guy isn't exactly white, and I seem to have somehow confused Jamaican with Brazillian.
Also, the movie was about capoeira, and not kung fu.

And it wasn't a movie at all, but a pop up book!

And the pirate sounds? Nothing more than a cup, and a piece of cheese.
