After tonights game (Orange Bowl) and with Elway now in charge in Denver I fully expect the Broncos to be the Saints to Carolina's Washington and trade every draft pick for Andrew Luck if he comes out ala Ricky Wiliams. Not a chance. I don't see Car trading down to 2 (it'll be much lower if it happens) and I we have to give Tebow a shot after using a first on him last year.

I know Tebow should proably get a shot as he's a #1 pick and ther's alot of money, but if Denver gets Jim Harbaugh, it's happening, they'll give Carolina no option. As for the #2 thing Carolina could jsut trade down AGAIN! after getting all of Denver picks.

Let's not forget that with the playoffs starting on Saturday afternoon, so too does the NFL's new overtime rules. If you need a refresher on the postseason overtime rules, they are as follows: - If the team receiving the overtime kickoff kicks a field goal on the first drive, the other team would have a chance to either tie the game with a field goal (at which point it would be sudden death from there) or win the game with a touchdown. - A touchdown or safety at any point in overtime would win the game. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/03/with-2011-playoffs-overtime-rules-change/

You want to win? Do you job and stop the offense or don't get paid for the overtime period.

Went with the Eagles (total homer pick - my dad has boasted that if the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl he'll be able to get tickets via my brother-in-law calling in a favor to his buddy on the Browns, and DAMMIT I WANT TO SEE IT HAPPEN), but as far as general picks go:
Want to win it all:
Eagles, Jets (Hey, he's the son of a great Eagles coach), Steelers (at least the same state), Packers (Will be pissed because it means they beat the Eagles, but KUUUUUUUUHN), Seahawks (pure LOL factor on this one)
Realistically will win it all:
Patriots (They seem currently unstoppable), Falcons (Barring the Saints game, they've also proven to be a really good team this year)

More Rules != More Fun, Goodell.

With kickers becoming more accurate there been a lot of overtimes where a team just drives 50 yards, kicks a long field goal and wins without the other team touching the ball. That being said, I don't likes these new rules. I say just play an extra quarter even if it's an abbreviated 10 min quarter.

The new rules are very collegiate, though not quite as generous.

Man I hope if we get Harbaugh we don't get Luck. Nothing against the kid, but if we draft Luck it's a total slap in the face to Tebow, who could very well be our guy. I'm hoping and praying if he declares Carolina snatches him up, we don't need him.

I also hate these new overtime rules. I want the NFL to have the NCAA's overtime rules. Not this confusing bullcrap.

Of course, I've always wondered why a safety is worth 2 measly points anyway. IMO it should be worth at least 3 points and the ball, but I'd put it at 4 myself.

I also hate these new overtime rules. I want the NFL to have the NCAA's overtime rules. Not this confusing bullcrap. Whats so confusing about it? It just means if you get the ball first in OT and kick a field goal, the other team gets a chance with the ball. If the other team gets a FG as well, it goes to sudden death. However if any team scores a TD at any point in OT the game is over. Its pretty straightforward to me, not seeing where there is any confusion, and its a much better option than say taking special teams out of the game and having defenses line up in the prevent formation every single play. Besides, its not gonna happen very often. In the 92 year history of the NFL, there have been 25 playoff games that went to overtime, the first one obviously being the 1958 NFL Championship game. So of all the playoff games that have occurred since 1958, only 25 have gone to overtime. I don't see this rule being used very often. And the last playoff game that went to overtime, this rule wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Besides, I think this rule will make teams go for the win more late in games, and make them go for a TD more in OT. But thats just me. My personal preference would have simply been to eliminate field goals in OT, but still keep it sudden death.

Why no love for the Falcons? I mean the Seahawks have more votes Only reason the 7-9 Seahawks have more votes than the Falcons is because it's supposed to be a joke if they win it all. OT rules: I hate the NCAA overtime rules mainly because of where the ball is placed. It's too easy to get a touchdown from the 25 yard line. I could tolerate it better if they started the possession as if a kickoff went out of bounds. If the NFL would have gone to the Arena League OT rules(both teams guaranteed one possession, if it's still tied after both teams have a possession, it goes to sudden death from there), it would be been better. Only reason they changed the playoff OT rule was because St. Brett of Thekidoutthere didn't get to touch the ball in OT and certain people in the media(namely Bob Costas and Jim Nantz) whined about it.
