The stupid OT rules were because Goodell and Co. couldn't bear seeing Favre on the sidelines unable to do anything as the Saints marched down the field for a game winning FG in OT. IT's dumb to tweak the rule just for playoff games
It is a good thing McNAbb didn't make the playoffs, dude would have just been confused even more regarding the change

49ers have asked the Giants about interviewing Perry Fewell as well as the Raiders about Hue Jackson.
Broncos will reportedly ask for a 2nd round pick as compensation for trading Kyle Orton.

Man I hope if we get Harbaugh we don't get Luck. Nothing against the kid, but if we draft Luck it's a total slap in the face to Tebow, who could very well be our guy. I'm hoping and praying if he declares Carolina snatches him up, we don't need him. Wait, you'd seriously rather have Tim Tebow over Andrew Luck? Really? Tebow is a poor man's Michael Vick who can't run or throw nearly as well as he can. Andrew Luck could be the Next Big Thing, which I can't see Tebow EVER being.

The 49ers are reportedly willing to give Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh "significant personnel power" should he accept the head coaching job in San Francisco.
The Jaguars will renew defensive coordinator Mel Tucker's contract for the 2011 season, and let him calls plays on defense.
Packers signed ILB Desmond Bishop to a four-year, $19 million extension through 2014.
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Jeff Fisher will not be back as Titans coach if Vince Young returns to the roster.
Fisher's contract allows him to play the quarterback he wants, and at this point owner Bud Adams is intent on keeping Young, despite advice from other club officials. "Unless Adams changes his mind, it's over,"

good to hear that bishop is sticking around for a while, he had a pretty good year also, i'm surprised the carousel hasn't hit arizona yet.

I don't like the new rules. You want to win? Do you job and stop the offense or don't get paid for the overtime period. Agreed. Just seems like at this point they make things complicated for the hell of it. More Rules != More Fun, Goodell. Goodell is like a real-life Seymour Skinner, maybe more uptight.

He really played well when taking over as the starter. The thing I liked most is that, unlike the other ILB's the Pack had, he actually would PUSH RB's back. Very physical LBer. I think with him signing, AJ Hawk or Nick Barnett might be on the way out after this season

Sources with knowledge of the situation tell the Washington Post that the Redskins are "highly unlikely" to release Albert Haynesworth this offseason, and are more likely to shop him for a draft pick.
According to ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas, the Panthers have already decided to select Stanford QB Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick if he enters in the 2011 NFL draft.
Selecting Luck would be a concession by Carolina that Jimmy Clausen was a waste of a second-round pick. The Panthers are without their 2011 second-rounder after flipping it for receiver project Armanti Edwards in last year's draft.

Cowboys will interview Dolphins assistant head coach Todd Bowles for the head coach job.
While Vikings owner Zygi Wilf wants the team play outdoors, new coach Leslie Frazier wants to keep playing indoors due to the crowd noise factor, Frazier told Mike Florio on PFT Live on PFT.com.
Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson said in a press conference that Panthers were unlikely to trade the #1 overall pick.

Honestly yeah, I guess I'm not as impressed with Luck as a lot of people are. Plus Tebow has only three games under his belt, so if the Broncos bring in Luck we may never know whether Tebow could work for us or not. I feel more confident with Tebow at QB than Luck, because I think Tebow can be the next big thing and I want to find out while he's in orange and blue.

I now fully expec Palmer to be back enxt year to add the cherry on top of your crap sundae If I was a drinker, I'd be hitting it right about now. Already got word two weeks ago that no ifs, ands, or buts about it, Palmer WILL be back next season and will be the starting QB. This franchise would rather toy around with Tank Johnson and Pacman Jones than go seeking out a trade for a veteran QB to stem the tide while the Bengals draft one. Which, btw, knowing them they won't. The blind loyalty they show to Carson is beyond my comprehension. It's as though they're stuck in that mindset that everything is as it was just a second before that Steeler rolled in to his knee. SPOILER f***ING ALERT - IT ISN'T. Now I'm just assuming the worst all around. OchoCinco WILL be back, Marvin WILL be back, no significant upgrades will be made at any positions. I'm also sure they'll draft a safety with their first rounder instead of one of the plethora of potentially great QBs that will be coming out. The first year I watched football I became a Bengals fan the year before Peyton went to Indy. His rookie season is when I became a true Colts fan. If I hadn't found the Bengals first, I'd totally just jump allegiances and throw my hat in 100% with the Colts. My franchise is a freaking joke.
