I just switched over after the Football game to see Fox's Animation Domination and saw that a new episode of American Dad was finishing? Is this a permanent slot for the show now? I thought it usually brought up the end?

Nah, that's for The Cleveland Show now. They moved it to there due to Bob's Burgers debuting. It'll be back at that slot soon.  |

No crap I had given up on the game way before but just kept watching and if I would have known I definitely would have tuned it but I dont think it was ever advertised Just add something at the end of the AD ads they already had. Not that big a deal. |

I think I remember Seth McFarlane saying something on Twitter about this being it's new slot, he didn't say permanent or not though.

Yeah, I had no idea it would be a new episode. I assumed it was on hiatus while Bob's Burger's got it's shot.
From everything I've seen and heard, Fox is actively trying to replace AD but can't find anything that consistently gets/keeps ratings.

American Dad! is the best of Seth's 3 shows, and if it goes, I will officially be done with Fox. What NEEDS to be cut is The Cleveland Show. It is pointless, and it is where Seth sends all of his weakest jokes to die. American Dad! gets the best stuff, Family Guy gets what isn't put into AD, and Cleveland Show gets whatever crap is left. |

Still, they are trying to can the wrong show. AD is the best they've got in their Animation Domination block, and they'd be stupid to kill it. Then again, this IS Fox, the same idiots that canned Family Guy on more than one occasion, and canned Futurama, so, I'm actually expecting them to kill off American Dad! at this rate. |

are there actual merit to the rumors of fox wanting to can Amercian Dad or is it just speculation? cuz i'll be suuuuper pissed if they do. I'm not a big fan of Seth McFarlane's humor, but American Dad is one of my favorite animated shows at the moment (next to Venture Bros and a few others)

I actually think American Dad is the worst of the three. Family Guy still is mostly funny (the usual groan inducing stuff aside) and TCS is growing on me. I just don't like any of the characters on American Dad (The dad is a prick who isn't funny, the gay alien's voice bugs me, the son and daughter aren't ever that funny, the mom is pointless and the fish is dumb too.)
