To be clear, a while ago I had a friend on facebook who was gonna join the Navy. Before going to boot camp she started working out a lot , so I made a joke about her "being impatient to kick people's asses". Some idiot then responds "your gonna be fighting? Oh god, I hope you'll be alright." She then tells me "stop it. You got him scared!" Major face palm on my side. Anybody else have friends who have almost no humor when you joke around with them?

Yep. I have a small few friends who are like this, but usually it is my parents who will not understand I am joking, or that I have a very dark sense of humor many times.

My friend posted a FB status likening Monday to a dead-beat dad. Some woman came along and commented, "I'm sorry about your relationship with your father. My relationship with my family is rocky, too." That made me LOL, and to top it all off he comments, "Monday never supported my brothers and me."

That's the closest thing I have to a sense of humor at all. If anyone could tell I was joking, that'd kill it for me. Even if I'm not serious, I'm going to say something completely seriously, and slowly let them twist in the wind, going from sure I'm not serious, to unsure, to completely sure.
My brain just isn't wired for humor-generation.

My dry British wit has evolved to the point that it is so dry that this happens all the time to me.

I'm too dry for almost everyone around me a fair bit of the time, and the other fair bit I play everything up too much trying to make everyone "get" my jokes (which, admittedly, mostly suck). Too subtle to laugh at and too droll to troll.

My parents and my sister always takes what I say seriously. Guess they don't like when I joke around.

I got into a funny Facebook moment due to a relative of mine. My cousin posted something and I replied to it. It was a funny little back-and-forth thing, nothing special. Anyone who read it could tell it was two guys just joking around. Well, his mom sends me this PM and goes on about not making trouble in the family..takes it all out of context and makes it this big thing. I had to write her back and explain to her that anyone reading it KNOWS we are joking.
I've also had people think I was serious when I'm trying to be funny and think I'm funny when I'm trying to be serious. On FB and in person.

For me it's hit the point where unless I'm around a certain group of friends, I have to be overly sardonic just so people can tell I'm joking. Most of what I say is a joke. How people haven't figured it out yet, I have no idea. It's not ideal.
