I enjoyed the GTA games up until the one where your that russian guy. I found that game kinda boring and it annoyed me no end to keep getting pestered with phone calls from people wanting to go bowling or something. Though I liked GTA IV and other GTA games in general, I didn't enjoy IV as much as I enjoyed San Andreas or Vice City or even III when I first played it (And believe me, I was addicted to GTA III like I was addicted to heroin and tried to play it any chance I got before getting a PS2 and the game). Plus, I found myself enjoying Saints Row 2 more than GTA IV. I even thought that the episodes from Liberty City had more interesting aspects than the main game.

Yeah, Final Fantasy XIII easily. I've never exchanged a game for store credit at EB before until I got this game.

I usually love the series, but Dragon Quest IX really shot itself in the foot by having your whole party be silent protags and never letting you know where to go next once you beat a dungeon. I lost count of how many hours I spent just wandering around trying to find where to go next with a personalityless party and dull background music.

FFX gets boring fast. Go to a town, visit a temple, fight a boss. Rince, repeat. I couldn't believe how little side-quests there were, and those that were there weren't all that fascinating and just felt uninspired (either former bosses in their One-Winged Angel form or boring-ass fetch quests). Oh, and you get the best sword right from the start. Great. It's not even really a bad game, IMO but yeah... it's just kinda okay. And NO FF game should be content with being "just okay". ESPECIALLY after a game like FFIX. MAN this game had some kick-ass side quests, gameplay, story, characters. A very wide world with tons of secrets to discover. THAT is what I call an RPG. Ten just looks cute in comparison.
But still, it's a thrill ride compared to Resident Evil: Survivor. this series wasn't exactly known for having fast zombies, but even by its standard, they are STILL slow as Hell. Add to this an inexistent AI (I seriously just stood in place at some points and the enemies could STILL not hit me. And if you actually move, you're downright invincible), a predictable "plot" that is resolved pretty much right away (which really shouldn't be a surprise considering it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes top to beat it), characters with absolutely no personality whatsoever and puzzles that sometimes amount to "look at the table right next to the door to find the key" (again, I am not making this up. In fact, I often found keys before even knowing I was looking for one!) and you have one of the least interesting video games ever created. Oh, while the enemies are stupidly easy to kill, it takes forever to do so.

GTA:IV was a huge letdown. It just never really seemed to pick up. I bought it shortly after release and did not finish it until nearly a year later. However I loved The Ballad of Gay Tony and hopefully the next GTA game is more like Gay Tony.

I still have FF13 & play it on occasion. I'm about 4 hours in, & I'm STILL getting freaking tutorials!

Metal Gear Solid 2...yes I mean the cutscenes, not the core game mechanics.

Elebits. F*** I hate that game.
Also I'll second the Dynasty Warriors series. I've been forced to play several of these games by a friend of mine and I always find myself bored within five minutes.

Monopoly is up there for me, but there was another one that was totally tedious. A friend of mine had this old NFL Strategy board game that when you played, it took you about an hour and a half to two and a half hours to get through a quarter. Speaking of Assassin's Creed, I had this conversation with a friend of mine:
Me: What did you get Mattitude (not that Mattitude) for Christmas?
Her: Assassin's Creed.
Me: Why in the blue hell did you get him that game?
Her: Because he loved Assassin's Creed 2.
Me: Don't you ever listen to me?
Her: Why?
Me: When Mattitude brought Assassin's Creed 2 home, I told him right in front of you that the reason 2 was so good is that they fixed the problems with 1.
Her: What do you mean?
Me: I told you and him that it was really tedious. It's no where near as fun. And with the way he plays the game, he's not going to be happy with the first one.
And at that point, the conversation went downhill fast. She questioned my judgment and whatnot, and I told her that as usual, she never listens to anything I say. Well, Christmas passed and he got his game and played it for about an hour before saying f*** it and putting in a different game. I don't know why she argues with me, since if it's about movies or games I hit the nail on the head. You should have heard the argument we had about the proper use of Parsec in the first Star Wars film ...

For a game about a wrestling company like ECW, ECW: Hardcore Revolution was boring as hell.

Fallout: New Vegas.
Man, the environment is bland. Okay, I get that it's supposed to be in a world after bombs got dropped. And that it's in a desert. But it's over 200 years after the nukes hit, and there's not even supposed to be that many of them that did hit. The hyped-up Strip consists of a whopping FOUR casinos, devoid of patrons, surrounded by an empty slum. And almost everything else is just dirt...and hills...and more dirt...and more hills. No, this isn't a complaint about graphics. But there's this huge, empty map with nothing of interest in it. It's supposed to be pristine or whatever, and they cop out by just giving out more of the same.
Also, all of the missions seem like chores. I'm sorry that I got this game in the first place.

Final Fantasy, or Final Fantasy I, or whatever it's called. "LIGHT WARRIORS save the ORBS." I mean, don't get me wrong, the characters were animated, but over all, dull empty heroes fighting a dull empty quest against a villian with a purpose that would make the Emperor's head hurt.

I had to force myself to get through Final Fantasy XIII. That was the first time I've ever had to do that with a game. I almost lost all interest in video games entirely.

Im feeling the same. Im walking about a desert randomly getting attacked by some freaky mutant dudes. So far i see potential but im still just thinking, meh. I really want to get into it, just very very bland.

2010 (based on the movie) on the Colecovision is a total bore-fest. I played it for a grand total of one hour and gave up.
GTA 4 was good, but by making it so serious Rockstar took a lot of the fun away. Ballad Of Gay Tony was great though. I hope all the rest of the GTA series go back to that vibe. People want to play GTA for the goofy mayhem. I want the humor back.
I didn't find the first Assassin's Creed all that bad, but 2 is much much better.

I've been playing the same game of hide and seek with my wife since December 22. This must be the best hiding place ever!
I hope she finds me soon. If not, please send food.

Dude, it's an NES game, what did you expect? Back then, the notion of "plot" in a video game was something ground breaking.
