I just want the era of motion sensor games to pass. It's actually gone backwards a step when you think about it.

After playing it more and more (and with my room mates, I have 5), the thing is a blast. Kinect Sports and Dance Central are very very fun. Especially dance central. We all woke up this morning sore from playing it yesterday and were excited to get back to playing it. Its a great workout and you really can have alot of fun if you don't think about how ridiculous you look at first THEN you actually learn some sweet dance moves.
Those games aside, Kinectimals is also apparently very good. Game Informer really liked it and there is apparently alot to do. Not every game needs to be blood and guts.
I'm excited for future uses more than anything. The idea that it could scan faces/bodies into a create-a-whatever system is a nifty idea. And modders are already finding cool uses for it that microsoft hasn't even touched. The thing has a ton of potential.
The only downside is that you really do need a ton of space to play a game.

I just want the era of motion sensor games to pass. It's actually gone backwards a step when you think about it. It is more than just the era of motion sensor games. It is now the era of casual gaming. Ever since the Wii captured the casual market, these other game markets started to skyrocket: - Web games on social networks(namely Facebook) - Mobile phone games(more specifically game apps on the iPhone and Android phones) This has also led to the rise of two development/publishing studios, Zynga and Pop Cap. Sure Pop Cap was popular BEFORE the casual revolution thanks to the Bejeweled games, but their biggest hits, Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies took off because of these this casual revolution. Now, I'm not saying the casual revolution is a bad thing, at least not for me. Being a game developer now, this gives me a lot more people to buy my product, but at the same time now I have to focus on how I will make a game appeal to this audience, and with my main platforms being the iOS devices, they are my main target group.

As cliche (and untrue, depending on your mileage) as this answer is, my thoughts on Kinect are simple: I already have a Wii, I'm not buying another. It's far, far, far superior to a Wii. The motion capture is absolutely top notch. I've never seen anything like it.

My nephew got it for X-Mas, I thought what I played was pretty fun.
