He was over as hell as Festus, and got a ton of exposure in the SES. Not really what I'd call misses. Only thing that missed as Gallows is his atrocious miss-use. Yeah. I will admit that for a week or so I wanted to call him "Karnov the Angry Woodsman", but I was really getting into the SES. Damn shame he became presented as a big, useless lug. As for Festus, the "feud" with Mizorrison probably was the writing on the wall (since Jesse was always taken out instantly). The fans were actually cheering for Morrison to ring the bell and seeing Miz make fun of him ("One more time!"), and then he got shipped to RAW for no reason.

There's a lot of "Bradshaw into JBL", but what about "Justin Hawk Bradshaw, Texas redneck" into just plain "Bradshaw, Acolyte/APA ass-kicker"? That was a winner.
Thurman "Sparky" Plugg/Bob "Spark Plug" Holly into Hardcore Holly. Definite winner, a more updated character of the times. "I'm a big shot! How ya like me now?"
And I'm shocked to see no mention of "Shawn Michaels, tag-team specialist" to "The Heart-Break Kid Shawn Michales stuck-on-himself, arrogant ass". You people are slipping.

Dustin Rhodes morphed into Goldust. Nobody saw that coming. I was gonna say Dustin, but as it was a change caused by switching from WCW to WWF I didn't think it'd count. Bob Holly and Bart Gunn to 'Bombastic' Bob and 'Bodacious' Bart, the New Midnight Express was a major flop. 'The World's Greatest Wrestler' Jeff Jarrett to 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett to the guitar-swinging "Don't Piss Me Off" Jarrett were definitely improvements, if not a hit each time. Although I didn't much care for him, The Brian Kendrick was an improvement over white meat tag team jobber Brian Kendrick.

The Rockers weren't exactly a miss. That was just character development. The thing is that Michaels went from a nicely-sized fish in a big pond to the big f'in shark eating all the fish!

Yeah, if company changes count then Mean Mark -> Undertaker is a huge one. Perhaps the huge one, but I don't know how over he was in WCW.

MISSES: *Sparky T. Plugg becomes "Hardcore" Bob Holly. Originally it was to parody the idea of "hardcore wrestling", and while it did introduce us to "siblings" Crash and Molly, Holly spent most of his time doing nothing for the remaining 10 years of his employment. Are you saying that Bob Holly was better off as Sparky Plugg than as Hardcore Holly?

Which were all misses.

Hits.
Rocker Shawn Michaels to The Heartbreak Kid - This is the epitome of a character metamorphosis. After he drove Jannetty through the Barber Shop Window, the sky was the limit. He went from a glam rock MTV watching pretty boy to a vain and arrogant ladies man.
Y2J...to Honest Man - Nobody ever thought Jericho would be serious. He dropped all aspects of his Y2J character and became a suit wearing self righteous honest man inspired by the character Anton Chigurh from the movie No Country For Old Men. Gone is the long hair, the Gaudy and Outlandish outfits and fun loving personality. In are the custom made suits and long vocabulary. It's indeed a horse of a different color.
Edge and Christian..Borderline Goths to Goofy Valley Boys - This one is my favorite. When Edge and Christian joined with Gangrel, they formed a Gothic stable known as The Brood. Nobody knew if they were really Vampires or a couple of freaks looking to garner attention. Soon, Gangrel grew jealous of Edge's attention and left him and Christian. After being generic faces for a bit, they turned heel by coming goofy surfer dudes. I remember laughing my ass off whenever they were doing something funny like 5 Second Poses, or Christian in a chicken suit trying to lose weight. I felt like I was watching Bill and Ted. Hopefully one day they'll reunite.
Misses
D-Von...Preacher - God knows why..but they decided to split up The Dudley Boyz. Bubba went on to establish himself in the Hardcore Division while D-Von took on the gimmick of a Southern Black Preacher. It didn't get over well and soon management decided it was a mistake to break apart The Dudleyz and reunited them on Raw.
The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust - Dustin Runnels and Terri were having real life Marital Problems and Vince McMahon being the warm hearted soul he is...decided to make it an angle. Goldust broke up with Terri on air, saying he found someone that accepts him for who he is. And that turned out to be Luna. Goldust got more and more bizarre with gaudy outfits and strange makeup. I even remember him wearing some kind of..pea soup green outfit with a thong over it, and Luna had him on a leash and a ball and gag. He reminded me of the gimp from Pulp Fiction. The angle did nothing for Dustin and he soon renounced that Goldust was dead and blamed Vince for all the things going wrong in his life.
Heel Jim Ross - This whole sad story started when JR proclaimed that Razor Ramon and Diesel were coming back to the WWF. When that news broke, internet geeks all over the states creamed their pants in anticipation, waiting for The Outsiders to return. But figurehead WWF Commissioner, Gorilla Monsoon proclaimed that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are under contract to "another company" and that they would not be coming back. But good ol JR ensured us that The Bad Guy and Big Daddy Cool was coming home. JR was to introduce Razor, but before that went in full shoot mode, blasting Vince McMahon for firing him twice. After a long winded rant, he brought out Razor Ramon...only, it wasn't Scott Hall. He looked flabby and out of shape. It looked like Razor gained some weight since we last saw him. He went from slamming down guys like Shawn Michaels and Jeff Jarrett to slamming down Cheeseburgers. It was apparent that this was NOT Razor Ramon and Diesel. It was all a shot at The Outsiders who left the WWF months earlier. Course the fans didn't accept these cheap knockoffs and the bogus Razor was sent away while Diesel...found a more successful gimmick... I don't know what the significance of this was, but it was pointless as JR dropped all mentioning of The Fake Outsiders months later.

Which were all misses. If Bodacious Bob was a miss, then quite frankly sir I don't even wanna know what a hit is.

Perhaps the huge one, but I don't know how over he was in WCW. He was the "big guy" that replaced Sid Vicious in the Skyscrapers tag-team when Sid got fired the first time. I think he had a limited program with Sting; but aside from that, he was just a generic hoss that took up roster space.
