Headbanger Mosh into Chaz....successful tag team into someone no one cared about. Even though i think it was Thrasher getting injured that played a part in that..but they could've just kept him around as Mosh.
I guess "Meat" turning into Shawn Stasiak in WCW was definitely a career turn considering how much attention he got in the last years of WCW.
DDP- "people's champ of WCW" turned into stalker DDP. Miss in my opinion.
Booker T turning into King Booker...although Booker T was never unsuccessful if you truly look at his career King Booker got him the World title in WWE. I guess could be character development considering he won King of the Ring but it was a repackaging in a sense.

I read this thread a few days ago and can't remember..has anyone mentioned The Real Double J and Rockbilly turning into The New Age Outlaws? That was a huge one. There's another one I'm ashamed to have forgotten. It's about as obvious as the nose on my face, and I skimmed over it. It really wasn't as drastic a change as I may make it out to be, but seemed so...random. In the same sort of time-frame, how about taking the Sultan and repackaging him as Rikishi, silly dancin' Samoan/Sumo/whatever-he-was-supposed-to-be?

I saw him wrestle a dark match with the sumo gimmick, he was definitely a monster heel-type. He wrestled at least a few matches on TV that way too...then he just started dancing and they ran with it.

Indeed. The Rikishi Driver was a pretty damned nice finisher back when he first used the Sumo Gimmick.

Prince Albert - T & A Albert - X-Factor Albert - Hip Hop Hippo Albert - Regular Heel Albert - A-Train = miss Giant Bernard = hit I thought "Hip Hop Hippo" was a horrible name, but Albert looked his best when tagging with Scotty 2 Hotty. And Albert was wearing shirts! To save us from seeing that horribly unshaved torso

Are you saying that Bob Holly was better off as Sparky Plugg than as Hardcore Holly? Also, he didn't go from Sparky Plugg to Hardcore Holly, there were a couple of repackagings in between. Which were all misses. I thought Hardcore Holly was somewhat over, at least in the beginning. Here's one hit nobody mentioned Mankind from a dangerous lunatic to a fun-loving goofball who uses a sock puppet.

Zack Ryder from Edgehead to now was a major improvement.

[quote author=jdogindy board=WWE thread=340657 post=6676107 time=1293031026 *The Major Brothers become the Edgeheads and while they did get the tag team belts, they were still job fodder. Zack Ryder became known for his entrance theme and that Sheamus used him to retain his title in hopes of not having to defend it at "Night of Champions", while Curt Hawkins spent a year down in FCW assisting the Dudebusters and then became a Gatecrasher with Vance Archer. Didn't crash any gates, though.[/quote]
I still get douche chills when I think of that introductory promo where one of them talked about how they like to listen to rock music and snuggle with their girlfriend.

If Bodacious Bob was a miss, then quite frankly sir I don't even wanna know what a hit is. The Midnight Express were so over you'd be able to hear crickets chirping if only they hadn't bored them into silence too.

Mabel to King Mabel to Viscera to The Worlds Largest Love Machine to Big Daddy V.
I don't know much about his Mabel days, but Viscera was just a generic monster heel(although his 2004-2005 theme was awesome), World Largest Love Machine I actually enjoyed quite a bit so thats a hit IMO. Big Daddy V would have been a hit if it wasn't for his great big floppy tits jiggling around...

He adopted a more gothic look with a long black coat and white eyes. When they turned him into Sexual Chocolate 2K5, that was pretty much the end of him.

Christian's change from complete goofball to somewhat goofy, somewhat serious I think is a success.
