Overall, I think the group has come along pretty well. I think they're more like the Four Horsemen than Evolution ever were, I didn't see that as "the next Four Horsemen", I saw that as the first Evolution. The problem with Evolution was that none of the members bar Triple H and Flair (who was 56 years old by then) had that specific "workrate" that the Four Horsemen had. But with TNA, everyone that is in/has been in the group has that specific type of style... okay, bar Rob Terry. The one problem with Fortune however is that RIC FLAIR is the star of the group. Not AJ Styles. Comparing Fortune (past members included) to The Four Horsemen and Evolution, I see it like this...
Ric Flair - Ric Flair AJ Styles - Brian Pillman Douglas Williams - Chris Benoit Rob Terry - Batista Desmond Wolfe - Randy Orton Robert Roode - Arn Anderson James Storm - Tully Blanchard Matt Morgan - Sid Vicious Kazarian - Dean Malenko
I think that Desmond Wolfe should in AJ's spot, maybe get a world title push. He's the only past member that I could take serious as Flair's prodeje. To make this thread interesting, who should be the FOUR members in Fortune?

I think the team of Styles Kaz Storm and Roode sells itself.
They didn't really need the 4 horsemen angle to make TNA fans care about this stable.
If it was the impetus for bringing them together - fine, but honestly I would have been just as happy or even more so if it were Styles who mastermined the group.
Flair drags the whole group down imo.
That and the crappy hand gesture.
Hand gestures are so 1998.
You know what they should use instead? Rally towels.

What about this other Flair stable? The Magnificent Seven? Or does that not count because that it was the dying days of WCW?

Comparing the Four Horsemen to Fortune is like comparing ice-cream to horse manure.

Comparing the Four Horsemen to Fortune is like comparing ice-cream to horse manure. I know they were called the Four "Housemen," but comparing them to "horse manure" was uncalled for.

My issue with Fortune is simply that, Flair is the leader and AJ isn't. It goes back to TNA wanting to put the focus on the "real" stars, and putting their stars on the backburner.
I like to think of Fortune in terms of how Evolution worked, and while some people may not have liked Triple H's reign of terror, that's how this stable should have been. They had the guy who was the World Champion or one of the top contenders. He was the leader. They did a promo, describing them. Flair was the past. HHH was the present. Orton and Batista were the future.
With Fortune, the present is Ric Flair. He's put up as the leader of Fortune. What happened with Flair was, when he joined up with Triple H, he was pretty much his personal manager. Then Flair started managing Batista, and I think Orton came into the fold after his injury. But, at that point, Flair was not in the dominant role. Not that being a manager is a bad role, I really hope WWE and TNA would bring back the manager, and WWE is kinda doing it with Vickie Guerrero). With Flair, it's tough for him to get heat right now, because of the funny antics with icing him, and as Jim Cornette says, "because everyone wants to boo their f***ing hero".
One thing I would like to see is Fortune turn on Flair. I know they have heel and babyface turns every week, but they need to have AJ be the star and not Flair.

"I'm reforming the Four Horsemen, and it will be called Fortune."
Proceeds to not include Wolfe who was in the ring with AJ and Beer Money during the promo, and then adds Williams and Morgan after Kaz to make it six guys not counting Flair. At this point I realized this had to all be some sort of elaborate joke that just went over my head.
