Anybody here see it? What did you think of it? Personally, I thought it was an interesting movie, but I got the entire concept after seeing the whole movie. Had some interesting action sequences, but it also had a thought compelling ending.

It's not tracking very well with critics at the moment...but I still want to see it. I'm a fan of things like Tokyo Gore Police and The Machine Girl and this looks like a PG-13 version of those films. Sign me up.

I wasn't really interested at all, besides whole aura of a movie with all flash and no real substance, anything overly "girl power" ish loses my attention.
For what it's worth, the reviews I've seen were like this: Moviebob said he recommended it, though he's a big Zack Snyder fan. The Spill crew gave it Some Ol' Bulls***, a F*** You, and a low Rental if you're 13 years old. Ain't It Cool has 2 reviews, one overtly negative, one positive, and Film.com gave it a D. I think the general consensus is that it's mindless and a flashy movie, one that you could either like for it, or hate for it.

DreadCentral gave it a middling review, and warned that it's all flash and no substance. But you know what? If I can at least SEE what's going on (F*** YOU, Michael Bay!) during the flashy battle scenes, I think I'd be happy. *shrug*

I don't think it looks terrible. My problem is going to be if my brother saw it already, as i'm sure he'll go to me with his review and he'll be completely in love with it.

We're seeing it tomorrow, today was Paul. Compared to Paul, I get a feeling Sucker Punch is going to be a letdown.

Fanservice: The Motion Picture And the problem is? ;D ;D ;D ;D Funny thing is, at least from what I heard in the spill review, Zack Snyder thinks this is empowering towards women, even with constant panty shots and all the sexual overtones, though the Moviebob review says he pulled it off well.

Fanservice: The Motion Picture And the problem is? ;D ;D ;D ;D The AV Club called it "Comic-Con: The Movie" and gave it a C. But I usually don't trust them when it comes to actual movie reviews.

I went on the IMDB message board for this movie and according to the users on there, this movie is being slammed. Personally, I liked the movie. I don't have a problem with Zack Snyder as a director. I did like 300 and Watchmen, though regarding the source material of either, I've only read Watchmen.
I remember being interested in this movie when I first saw some pictures of it when the movie was being shot. I did end up liking it, but the trailers are focusing more on the action sequences than the actual plot, which I didn't see coming, but I still enjoyed it. Like someone else mentioned, it's probably a movie you either like or you don't. I guess I am one of those people who actually liked it.

sucker punch was the most depressing movie i have seen in a while.
but so was 300 and so was watchmen, so i am not suprised. .. it seems like everything Zach Synder does ends depressingly.

From what I've read, the only way any discussion can occur about this movie is if there are spoilers because the twist at the end seems to be the most deceive thing about the film.

I saw it, and thought it was crap. The action scenes are so overdone. By the end of the movie, I was bored with action. Plus, there's no real sense of danger. {Spoiler}Because the entire movie takes place in the main girl's head, you never get the sense that anything matters. Hell, the movie is basically a fantasy within a fantasy. She's in a mental asylum, but then fantasizes that she's in a brothel, where she fantasizes that she's in some warzone. So, because of that aspect, it's just a really pointless movie. It looks pretty at times, and the girls are all attractive, but it's just so...overdone.

Seen in it IMAX today. I enjoyed it for what it was: a mindless popcorn flick. The action sequences are entertaining to watch, though Steelers4life87 brings up a valid point. The main storyline is weak, but it's serviceable to crutch the action. I wouldn't say it succeeds in women's rights movements or anything, but it's a fun, little action flick.
I'd give it a B.

I haven't seen it myself, but everyone I've talked to has said it's just terrible. Kinda put me off the movie as a whole now

I saw it. It was terrible. It was a fun riffing movie, but I actually fell asleep during the third fantasy. It got boring.
Plus it made no frikking sense whatsoever.
Though it was fun to see Prince John overact again.
And all problems in the world are solved by erotic dancing, which is never shown.

Well, I say 6 million is kinda close. And it lost to a movie I barely heard about that I never knew was made, let alone released.
