They just did their biggest number of iPPV buys in company history for Final Battle, and sold out the Manhattan Center again. Their attendances are also up in Chicago, Toronto, and the Boston area. They're heading back to Charlotte and Richmond in January, markets which were opened up over the past year. ROH is about to head into their third year of doing weekly television for HDNet, which is pure profit for them since HDNet pays for everything pertaining to the show. It's a free advertisement of all upcoming events and iPPVs. How exactly have they "fallen off?" If anything, they are stronger than they've ever been at the moment. I'm talking about the ROH that hasn't turned an annual profit since Gabe left where do you get this information?

I enjoy it when people make up facts as they see fit to help support their own views.

where do you get this information? Cary on a mark radio program. Don't cherrypick my posts. I asked a simple question. Didn't once say anything negative about what you had to say. Just wanted to know the source. relax.

I would be interested in finding the exact source (which specific "mark radio program" and which episode he supposedly stated that they haven't made any money since Gabe left) and listening to him say it.

I'm talking about the ROH that hasn't turned an annual profit since Gabe left and the one that papers the Arena. You've fallen off when you have to paper the Arena because people in Philly go to wrestling just because it's there. You've gotta do something heinous to turn them away. This is the same ROH that sells out the Manhattan Center? And they paper the Arena shows because they're just TV tapings. Who cares? I don't even remember the last time they ran a real show in that building. And I've been in some ridiculously small crowds there, so lets not pretend every indy is drawing 1,000+ every month for non-major events.

I don't think so, unless they can get a TV deal someday.

I don't think so, unless they can get a TV deal someday. This is what I keep talking about. This is why no other wrestling company other than WWE will ever have a decent market foothold again. ROH has had a TV deal for 18 months or something. TNA still has the same numbers they've always had, and WWE is still where they are, no matter how hard they try. With the current market, and the 9 years WWE has had to wipe everyone's minds of wrestling that isn't WWE, this is all that's left. Ring of Honor IS Number 3.

That's why people still viewed CM Punk's "debut" on ECW as him being an ROH guy. Nobody cared that he'd been in TNA before. just because WWE fans love to point out ex WWE wrestlers in TNA without acknowledging the WWE wrestlers who were in TNA first does not mean that TNA is not the second most recognizable company in the country. I don't think this is the case. If you blinked you missed CM Punk's time in TNA. Christian Cage is widely recognized as a TNA alumni as is Lowki/Senshi/Kaval/Warrior!

I didn't realize Christian and Low Ki were considered TNA guys. Geez I have watched more TNA than ROH or the WWE for the past decade and I don't consider them TNA guys. Yet while Punk's time in TNA was blink and you miss it, so was Matt Morgan's WWE stint. Still I have heard Morgan referred to as a WWE reject (not so much lately) while I don't recall ever hearing Punk called a TNA reject. So it seems to me the WWE gets a bit more leeway with the accusations but that could be a biased view of mine.

Same here : I live in France, and two days ago i've seen TNA belts and action figures next to WWE merchandise, in the toy aisle of a major store chain.
(and around here, TNA dvds can usually be found wherever WWE dvds are sold)

If TNA can be considered a "legitimate number 2" than ROH IS a legitimate number 3. They draw the biggest crowds in the US outside WWE and in some markets even come close to competing with TNA on live attendance.

Morgan was with WWE for nearly two years (1 yr; 9 months, not including his OVW days). Morgan was with WWE 7X longer than Punk was with TNA. Take the Pope for example. You won't see a lot of people call him a WWE reject because TNA actually created a new character with him, which I think is a big part of it. If a company hires a new guy from another company and reinvents him there's less of a "reject" vibe because they're doing something different with him. Maybe this is why WWE seems to get less heat over it as they're more likely to disregard someone's previous characters in a rival promotion (in the last decade or so).

And to the OP: Will ROH ever be a legitimate number 3 indy again? They've fallen off. They just did their biggest number of iPPV buys in company history for Final Battle, and sold out the Manhattan Center again. Their attendances are also up in Chicago, Toronto, and the Boston area. Yeah, If anything they had a far more positive 2010 than the number two promotion
