Was there a WCW wrestler named Swoll or do I have the guy confused with someone else? Was he any good?

Yeah, he was one of the No Limit Soldiers. I don't remember much about him otherwise. I know he did a few tag matches with Rey and one of the Armstrongs where he was basically there for people to bounce off of.

I remember reading somewhere that he was given a big money contract. Which, giving WCW, I can believe.

I'm not sure I'd call him a wrestler but he was definitely there.
In a related question, what was the deal with the DJ? I seem to remember him showing up around the time that Master P did, and then he just never left, or maybe he did when Riki Rachtman showed up?

Was he diffrent than 4x4 the guy with the huge arms. Yes, two different guys, same team/stable. Not sure which was the one that came back later as a member of Harlem Heat 2000 as a bodyguard.

Yep, he existed. He's the fella here with Rey Mysterio and Brad "B.A." Armstrong.

Leave it to the No Limit Soldiers to turn a faction that is supposed to be a group of heels into faces who became popular and a hit with the fans. Master P, KISS, the Misfits and Chucky: the epitome of WrestleCrap.
As for Brad Armstrong. I loved his "Buzzkill" gimmick. In the same sense I love watching bad movies.

He looks like a cross between Stevie Ray and Shad.

I remember when almost everyone in my highschool was obsessed with Master P. and the "No Limit soldiers" (about a year or 2 before the WCW fiasco). They had some of the most horrible rap "music" I've ever heard.

Oh god that was absolute veal. Bischoff had a good idea when it started but Vincent had already changed fans expectations. That and it just didn't come off well on tv. The rednecks were over in the south though
