So Kyuss has kinda spawned a lot of bands featuring the original members, and some side projects. Which has been your fav? I gotta go w/ EODM... awesome band, IMO.

I notice you only put the Josh Homme projects up. I voted for QOTSA, but there's been a load more he wasn't involved in that the other members were. - Mondo Generator
- Hermano
- Unida
- etc.

Honestly, I just put the ones I've heard, and put other for the rest lol That's fair enough. The rest of the members were never as big as Homme became. Thus even though Kyuss is reuniting w/o Josh (I think they're called Kyuss Lives) most people don't care.

Got to love that the band named themselves after one of the least known undead creatures in D&D. I don't know too many people that still have copies of the old 2nd edition Fiend Folio that these guys came out of: The only thing that would have been more impressive from a geek perspective is if they had named themselves Demilich or Dracolich (the most powerful undead that players might normally come across).

That reminds me how I always wanted to name a band "Tarrasque"

Easily Queens Of The Stone Age, but I do enjoy me Them Crooked Vultures.

If Them Crooked Vultures had more albums, they would win it for me. That first album is/was astonishing and I still listen to it all the time but just for the amount of material, Queens of the Sotne Age wins. Of course, that stuff is brilliant as well but I'm a huge Homme mark.
Though I REALLY can't get into Eagles of Death Metal.

Such a great f***ing band.

Thus even though Kyuss is reuniting w/o Josh (I think they're called Kyuss Lives) most people don't care. They really should though, as they're putting on awesome live shows. They've really nailed that trademarked, unique heavy-as-hell sound. John Garcia and Nick Oliveri are such a presence. True, Homme was a huge part of the creative force behind the band and has gone on to showcase his talent further with QOTSA etc. but checking the songwriting credits on the Kyuss albums shows that the other members contributed hugely as well. 50 Million Year Trip (Downside Up) for instance, one of their best and most musically intricate songs written entirely by drummer Brant Bjork. QOTSA are great and all, particularly Rated R, but up against the Kyuss material they fall somewhat short for me. After seeing Kyuss Lives! I was just left thinking, Josh Who?

QOTSA is top for me right now, but if Them Crooked Vultures put out a couple more awesome albums, they'd take it. Although, I also a huge Zepplin and Dave Grohl fan so I'm a little biased.

Yes they are called Kyuss Lives and I saw them in London a few weeks ago and they tore the f***ing house down. Mondo Generator are awesome, but I still would have picked QOTSA over them. But if Them Crooked Vultures keep making albums like their debut I'll have to change my answer. And I love the Eagles of Death Metal too. Homme has had some career.
