Barrett hands down. At least he actually does s***, rather than Punk, who takes pleasure in beating up his own members.

As fun as getting whipped with a belt may be, I'll go with Barrett.

Punk's last stable didn't win any belts, IIRC, and the new Nexus hasn't yet.
Since Nexus won the tag titles under Barret, he has to win by default.

Barrett. it would be like working for a Bond villain with all sorts of harebrained schemes and such, whereas working for Punk you just get beat up a lot and don't get to have any fun.

I don't get all the Barrett praise. I like Wade, a lot, as a character on his own trying to get himself over. But his character is just as manipulative as Punk's, making him a bad leader in terms of what you guys are basing this on.
When NEXUS started out, everyone was wondering what the goal was. And quickly after the ball got rolling it was quickly seen that it was to get Barrett in the main event and the belt strapped on him. Barrett failed at protecting his group members against attacks from Cena and the rest of the roster. He failed at listening to other members like Otunga. He allowed quality members to be injured (Tarver) and forgotten once injured (Skip). He added new members without going over it with his teammates. And the goal behind it (to save Nexus and add Cena) didn't pan out because Wade was a terrible leader that tortured Cena instead of befriending him and changing him from within.
Punk's NEW NEXUS already looks more focused, despite everyone's loyalty and praise of the reformation of the OLD NEXUS on Smackdown. And of course we all know the huge addition to NEW NEXUS that occurred, tonight. All the while, during that segment, Punk looking like a much different and purpose driven leader.
I might be giving the creative too much credit here, but I see this new leader of NEXUS being able to deal with Cena and possibly sway Cena into changing. that and even inspite of his "torturous" ways, I feel he's going to do more for the group to make them into a strong anarchist rebellion (like we hoped the original NEXUS would be judging from that first night back in June)
also, Punk isn't usually obsessed with getting himself a title (like Barrett was)

Barrett, by far.
CM Punk is an excellent wrestler/talker, but he doesn't socialize well with a group. He simply allowed Big Show to destroy the SES.
Barrett, even though he ran Nexus into the ground in his own personal quest to be WWE Champion, he did manage to keep the group united, and even prevented Otunga from launching an all-out rebellion until the bitter end. It took an extremely angry and determined John Cena to destroy them.
Barrett put far more effort in trying to stop John Cena than Punk did in trying to stop Big Show.

Barrett eventually just tried to get himself over, and ignored the rest of the Nexus.
Punk at least seems to want his minions approval.

Both groups got owned by Santino so neither guy really.
I guess Barrett wins by default though as it was mentioned that at least they won a title under him.

Barrett is a terrible leader, but at least he managed to actually run up some successes as one and didn't brutally torture his men for laughs. Punk can't claim the same.

Not sure why anyone would want Punk as their leader. He always does one of the following:
A: Brutally hazes the group B: Destroys it from within

Barrett is an awesome comic book-style villain leader.

Of course, talking Kayfabe here...
Definitely Wade. While he still puts himself first, he tends to be more sincere about how he feels about the people working for him than Punk does.
Wade wanted the people who'll help him get things done.
Punk wants pathetic, hopeless types that he can lord over and feed his God complex.

Barrett. Up until Skip Sheffield getting injured, the group was red hot. Punk's Nexus doesnt even look remotely interesting, just a bunch of silent lackeys for Punk.
