Posedowns, arm wrestling matches. That RR match that went on way way too long. Has there ever been an entertaining feud that feud that contains an arm wrestling match or a pose down let alone one that contains both. When you use something like that you basically say we don't know what to do, we don't want to use any of our good stuff that we have saved just reach into the wrestling feud cliche bucket and scrape the bottom.

Verbal debate? Chess match? Sack race? Hide and seek?
They had options with that feud, dammit! It could've worked!

This was when Triple H was in his enourmous swollen roid monster phase. Now if anyone's gimmick in wrestling in the last 10 years is being a giant roid monster it's Scott Steiner.
By facing him in an arm wrestling match and a pose down, it seemed like Triple H was trying to undermine Scott's gimmick. That and it totally sucked.

Thats actually a good way of looking at that feud, fighting over who was the biggest roid head in wrestling.

It was like MVP/Fat Hardy, except that feud was actually decent.

And while I can't remember who he was feuding with Bravo did stuff like that and it was awesome. I just got through the first 3/4 or so of 03, and while the HHH/Steiner feud was bad, it seems overshadowed by both the confusing HHH/Nash feud and the disgusting Steiner/Test/Kiebler feud.

Sonjay Dutt should have been thrown in for a Triple Threat.

I'm pretty sure that WWE knew Steiner was very limited in what he could do at that point, so they did everything they could OUTSIDE of the ring in order to mask that.
Also, the one point that gets me is that JR stood up for Steiner when he would get booed because of the tiny flag that he had on his tights, and not because of him doing the same overhead belly to belly 7 times in a match.

Ah yes their No Way Out match, and the Canadians booing a man for having the red, white and blue on his logo. Come on JR, couldn't you have come up with a better excuse than that?

Goddamn it was awful, Steiner BLEW in the WWE. Steiner blows, period. It's his unintentional comedy factor that keeps his fanbase alive.

I think fans are too hard on Steiner. He worked best as an unpredictable tweener who said what he wanted and worked a match that fit his style.
From my perspective I felt a lot of his best matches came during the last days of WCW when he faced Booker T. WWE just used him the wrong way in terms of mic skills, wrestling, and the way he should've been booked in general.

Goddamn it was awful, Steiner BLEW in the WWE. He sure did. Especially after that fantastic debut where he destroyed everyone in sight. "Everybody know..wants to know!" Their title match from 2003 at the Royal Rumble might possibly be one of the worst matches I've ever seen. The fact that they had a rematch made even less sense.

Actually before he disappeared from TNA he was wrestling to a decent level as a pure brawler with a tiny bit of suplex/technical thrown in.

Yeah Steiner sucked in the WWF, but damn his first appearance made me mark out like crazy.
On a more personal note, I'm still furious that Steiner and & HHH didn't feud over the right to wear chainmail to the ring.
