Personally, I think he is. I see a lot of potential money in R-Truth. Unlike wrestlers of the past who have had rapper gimmicks, Truth is actually pretty talented in that area and the guy is OVER. He gets even the dorkiest white people who would never listen to rap doing the whole "what's up" thing (no offense intended to dorky white people, some might argue that I'm one myself). He's flashy in the ring in the kind of way that both McMahon and a lot of WWE fans seem to like (think Rock or Cena with the showboating), but he's experienced enough in the fundamentals that he could probably have a decent match with anyone regardless of their in-ring style.
If it were up to me, I definitely would've pushed him over the Miz and Morrison. That's not meant to be a knock against those guys, but Truth is more experienced and IMO more ready for a main event spot.
So...what do YOU think? Yes, You!

Taking away the U.S. title less than three weeks after he won it really killed his momentum.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If not for his age and the travel restrictions imposed on Truth because of his criminal record, he'd easily deserve to be part of the main event scene right now.
As it stands, they could still probably be doing more with him than just using him as a (upper?)midcard JTTS. He's really, really over.

I personally find Truth to be the most annoying person on the roster, and this coming from someone who likes rap. That being said, I think Truth is so over because people like where he's at. But I'm not sure that people would accept him in the main event scene. It's the same with Santino. People love the guy but can you see him winning the WWE title?

I don't get why they had to use R Truth in that match against Del Rio though. There are plenty of jobbers in the back.

I can't stand him. I mean, really can't stand him.
He's also never impressed me. I dunno. There are other wrestlers in the WWE that I don't like, but that can still impress me. R-Truth always just has me rolling my eyes and ready to hit the mute button, even when he's against one of my faves.
So, personally, I can't say he's under-pushed. I can't speak for everyone, though.

Is it him that's over or is it the theme song?

I see your point, but at least it was a competitive match and he didn't get squashed or anything. In fact, Del Rio had to resort to underhanded tactics, ramming Truth's shoulder into the ring post to soften him up for the finish.

I find him and his gimmick really annoying. Even his wrestling style annoys me. He's just there to fill in the rapping gimmick quota since there's nobody else doing it at the moment.

Nah, Truth is decent, but the spot he's in is just about tailor made for decent guys.

He annoys me but the crowds love him. It's because he's interactive with them when ti comes to his entrance but whatever.
I didn't like him his first time in WWF. He was okay in TNA but doesn't deserve to be a former NWA champion. I don't like him in WWE now.
He's not a bad wrestler...but that rap is just ugh.
His criminal record is going to be the biggest thing against him....same as MVP. You can't escape your past.

I'm actually not familiar with his criminal record. What exactly was he charged with?

I believe it was a felony Skippin & Jumpin he was charged with. LOL, that's why he can't go to Canada? I know they're strict though. Believe it or not, an Uncle of mine was told by customs that he is "banned for life" from Canada for mooning the crowd when he was on a trip there playing with his High School marching band. And this was in the late 60s, way before 9/11. ;D

He is exactly what he is expected to be. Mediocre in every way, yet just over enough to matter. He's an asset without a doubt.
Call it "Mark Henry-itis".

I think he'd be a good US champ at this point...whenever Bryan loses the title, he should then get it asap

I find him and his gimmick really annoying. Even his wrestling style annoys me. He's just there to fill in the rapping gimmick quota since there's nobody else doing it at the moment. Which is ridiculous. William Regal can pull it off just fine.

They took away his catchy theme song and the crowd stopped giving a shit. I'd say he's pushed just right.
