I'd like them to take this opportunity to give the man some pyro already. We've lost so many superstars with pyro this year that new people need to get pyro to pick up the slack.
Personally, I'd love to see five explosions in order, syncing up with the spelling out of "DOLPH" on his minitron, if that made any sense, or really, something to sync with his hair gel flick thing.

Dolph's perseverance is paying off. Instead of crying about losing matches, he decided to keep upping his game to the point they can no longer ignore him.

Ziggler has been consistently delivering in the ring since his initial feud with Rey over the IC title. He deserves being in the main event scene, he's worked very hard and has proven himself more than anyone on either roster.

Hell yes.
WWE is finally revitalizing the World Title Scene.
Swagger, Sheamus, Ziggler, Morrison. 4 viable names that could become world champ.
They need to turn Swagger face though. I think he could play it well and they need another strong face in the main event scene.
I saw shades of what it could be on SD last week.
But good for Dolph. That is awesome.

I totally agree with you, and the same could be said from the miz, or others guys in the past Sometimes you need to be really patient, remember that thread where everybody here said that he will not last a month with his stupid gimmick and later after being welnessed?

The guy is damned good, no question.
But people talk about trying to compare names. Edge is a damned cool name, Miz is short for Mizanin, and Undertaker is an ominous name for an ominous wrestler, both biker and the undead.
Dolph Ziggler is just a ridiculously stupid name. It sounds like a name you'd use in porn if all the others in history were taken. What does that name even MEAN?! DOLPH ZIGGLER?! You can't even market that stupid name. It sounds like the equivalent of when Dusty Rhodes was given a polka dot gimmick to prove he could get over. It's like Vince went up to him one day and said "You were awesome as a male cheerleader, now we're going to name you Dolph Ziggler". "I don't even know what it means, Nick, I just played Scrabble one day and all the letters came together to form that name".
It looks like he's trying to be Mr. Perfect, but Perfect had awesome music behind him, and the name was cool, and he could cut a promo, and he had an amazing roster to work with.. Ziggler's working so hard in the ring, but every intangible he has sucks. Name sucks, music sucks, most of the roster around him sucks, and the promos they give him suck. He's overcoming it all though.
I say Nick "The Natural" Nemeth would fit him perfectly. That's champion material right there.

Wait, wait, wait, someone who has never had a World title before is going to be in a match for one at a PPV?Buy rates will plummet.
Also, remember to keep things in perspective, one PPV title match does not make some one a main eventer.Hell Jack Swagger was WHC once, now look at him.

I'll admit it. At first I couldn't stand the guy, hated his gimmick, figured he'd job for six months to a year, then get future endeavored.
I was wrong. I've admitted that for the last year. He's really come a long way from his days of shaking everybody's hand. I'm at the point where I look forward to seeing him on a weekly basis when I remember to watch Smackdown. I'll be DVR'ing this weeks episode solely because he wins the #1 contender's match.

I don't mind Dolph Ziggler but "The Natural" Nick Nemeth sounds so much better. Suits him well. Well, it is his real name so that would probably be why...

If they didn't have plans to elevate Ziggler, they would have let him challenge for the World Heavyweight Title while he was still Intercontinental Champion. The abrupt decision to take the IC Title off of him and put him in a World Title match tells me that he's done with the midcard for a while. Something else I was just thinking about - what if they pull a double-turn with Edge and Dolph via Vickie Guerrero? I'm hoping not, but I'm not ruling it out after the Kaitlyn stuff.

Sometimes there has to be a limit to patience. MVP was patient and they didn't do anything with him, however, I think they just realized to a certain degree that they couldn't ignore Ziggler and they're losing out on fans. But I wouldn't get my hopes up. This could be just a test to see how well he does in the main event.

I have to admit it wasn't immediate, but I saw something in Ziggler shortly following his title shot against MVP. It's that intangible something that makes a guy really stand out. He just seemed like one of those guys that you kind of knew would make something of himself with enough luck. There are only a handful of guys that I've seen that potential in.
The guy has endured quite a bit at this point. In my opinion he's basically the new Kane in that he has endured so many terrible gimmicks, the Spirit Squad; Kerwin White's caddy; that gimmick where he was obsessed with introducing himself; that at this point the fact that he is still around says something about the guy and his preseverence. Honestly he kind of deserves a push at this point.
Top that with his awesome performance against Cena two nights in a row and it's hard not to see why they aren't giving this guy the ball. Let's just hope he can run with it.

Honestly, I think that MVP case is special is true that his last year he was horrible misused, but he got a decent run, more considering that he can't achieve more with his past of being in jail that don't allowed him to be in some states That being said I got and share your point, which is true in some cases

His theme song reminds me one of those killer 80's hard rock or metal songs. It's perfect.

I like Ziggler getting a shot too, but I'd hesitate to call John Morrison a main eventer cause of a title shot, the same as I would for Ziggler here.
Plus, it's a title shot of Smackdown's heavyweight title, the one that, for the past couple of years, seems to usually hold their title matches just after the opening bell at PPVs, cause RAW needs about 3-4 match breathing room.
