I think that's irrelevant, tbh. I don't give a damn who usually buys the things I'm buying from him. He is being paid to perform a service. That service is to take the DVD, scan it, tell me the price, accept my money, give me my change, and then thank me for shopping at his establishment and tell me to have a nice day. If his opinion about the people who enjoy what I enjoy might be in any way derogatory, controversial, or might insult me in any way, it is part of his duty as a service provider to keep his thoughts to himself. Customers do not patronize an establishment that openly mocks and derides its customers by using racial and socioeconomic slurs against them for the heinous sin of buying their products. That is basic common sense that shouldn't even have to rise to the level of being called business acumen, but if it must, let's call it that instead. If the young man likes his job and would like to keep it, he should refrain from generalizing his customers as "white trash" in the future. There are many other terms he could also consider avoiding; I'm sure it isn't difficult to imagine what they might be. True. But since when is everyone top of the line, perfect employees? Or did I miss something? People are morons. But I really think the fact that some of you feel like you need to defend yourself so much for liking wrestling comes off as desperation. If you get offended by someone stereotyping you for liking wrestling...then maybe you either need to grow some thicker skin, or realize that stereotypes have to be based of something in order to be come one and just not let it bother you to the point that you have to defend yourself or make excuses about liking wrestling in the first place. And even though the employee shouldn't have said that, I don't find it any less of a douchebag thing to say calling the guy a loser virgin as a come back. The point isn't whether anyone is offended by what he said, but the fact he said it, and in his position, simply shouldn't have. Are you telling me that if you had been in that position you would not have been, at the least, annoyed by the unprofessional way your opinion was handled? The come back was a witty burn explaining a point, personally I would have gone for the manager and complained until I got something for nothing, but still, it wasnt the unprofessional snide attack on a potentially paying customer that an employee of a place should not be giving out.

Dang... I live in CT also... Which store was it? I'd like to go in there with torn jeans, no sleeves, go up to the guy and wait for him to say... Can I help you? And then I would just reply... Well... Look how I'm dressed! Can't you see what I'm here for? I'm also curious to know what store it was, I live in CT too. There was a thread about 'staging a happening' at a WWE show, maybe we can do a test run at this best buy! Just one white trash, red neck, don't know my left from my right wrestling fan after another!

I've used the "Batman" line on numerous occasions that someone here has posted a while back.
"Wait, so if wrestling is fake, does that mean Batman is fake too? If he's not real, then who's watching Gotham City? I better call Commissioner Gordon and let him know about this development."

If someone gets on to me for wrestling (nobody really does), then I just let them hold that opinion. I don't care. I even point out that it has "Entertainment" in the name and doesn't uphold it as a legitimate competition. I let them know it exists to entertain, not showcase real fighting.
That being said, you said something fairly inappropriate as well, but I'd be a little peeved too if someone said something like that that to me about it.
You should have just let it lie, though. He has a grossly misinformed opinion, no real reason to chastise him for it, even if he is an employee at the store because he didn't really attack you personally about it. You seemed to have attacked him more than he attacked you.
Anyway, I'd certainly see where someone might want a manager to come in to address that employees behavior, but really I'd just be like "Well, okay whatever. Thanks, bye."

Now one of my favorite sayings is.."stereotypes are the building blocks of comedy". However there is a time and place for that. If a customer came up to me in my store and asked how much Busch Light was, I would not say... "Oh are you looking for that because you like disgusting piss water beer because its cheap and you're an alcoholic?" No I wouldn't say that, no matter how bad my day was going or any of the sort.
Time and place, if the dude straight up says something like that, you take it to his manager, and then the guy learns a harsh lesson on tact. I can't even imagine how much trouble I would get in for something like that, and I'm already in a management position.

"Wait, so when I saw Meth Hardy jump off a twenty-foot ladder onto CM Punk live in person, that was special effects? When Mick Foley fell through the cell roof and a chair knocked his teeth into his nose and him unconscious, that was CGI? When Droz got dropped on his head and will spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, unable to do what he loves, it's a publicity stunt? ...I don't believe you."

People still rip on wrestling? I thought everyone got that out of their system...like a decade ago.
