That game actually looks really good, at least as far as I can tell from the brief gameplay clips in the trailer. So I assume it won't get released outside of Japan.

Anyone try the FF XIII-2 demo? I was quite impressed with it and I think it will be a big improvement over the first one.

I remember hearing about Bravely Default back when it had basically no information other than its ridiculous title. I really hope it turns out great, SE needs to repair themselves after the relatively nasty last couple of years they've had quality-wise. Anyone try the FF XIII-2 demo? I was quite impressed with it and I think it will be a big improvement over the first one. Some of us here got burned by FFXIII and are really lacking in optimism and enthusiasm about the sequel. (High Chief Tempest in particular really hated FFXIII with the fire of galaxies.) I personally also don't have any desire to play FFXIII-2, but I still hope it is better than the original at least. Type-0 for the PSP seems like a wonderful game, though, speaking of remnants of the Fabula Nova Crystallis project.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 would have to have no connection whatsoever to Final Fantasy XIII for me to give it a chance. There was barely anything in the first game that didn't piss me off at some point. So I guess in that regard FFXIII-2 would have to be an improvement on the first.
I heard they added the ability to jump while moving. So finally, the main series of FF is catching up to the innovations found in FF Mystic Quest.

Currently playing through Infinite Space, yet again. If you can find it I'd thoroughly recommend it. The game's obviously flawed (no quest log, interface problems, steep learning curve) but it's one of my favorite games, the story and characters are fantastic. On a more personal note, it also tugs at my romanticism about space very effectively. Even though the game's pretty dark in places.

I'll have to add that one to my list. Looks like new it's going for $50 on Amazon which is a little out of my price range. I like space-themed games a lot, but I don't have too many - Star Ocean: The Second Story and Xenosaga I, II, and III, I think is it.

It was really an inevitability after the little PR stunt they pulled with Gungnir's reveal. Not even a company with fans as loyal as Atlus can get away with cockteasing THAT blatant if it turned out to be something different.
That said, I'm happy too. Though it means yet another preorder to lay down when Xenoblade Chronicles comes out, haha.

Seriously, that's why I love Atlus. They release games like that which most other companies wouldn't.

Ah, I almost forgot you're getting it soon over there in the EU. Hope you enjoy it, it looks like it could be great from the gameplay videos I've seen. Catherine comes out over there next month too, I think.

I'm planning on getting TLS as my b-day present (as it supposedly comes out 2 days after my b-day). But, bah gawd, give me a break! I still have to finish up Skyward Sword and Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (I'm almost at the tower, btw) to get to Xenoblade (I'm kinda in the early-middle parts of it, I believe) and only then will I get to TLS. AND there's still Pandora's Tower (and Kirby. Because there's always Kirby). And people said that there aren't worthy Wii games

Seriously, that's why I love Atlus. They release games like that which most other companies wouldn't. Definitely. Not to mention that they are usually high-quality releases with a lot of extra stuff. I've dropped a lot of money on Atlus games the last few years. They're like Working Designs except they make money.

Could do with more tactful staff/mods sometimes though.

Sorry for blackening the thread with my cynicism. Anyway, it turns out I've still got one ending left to see on Devil Survivor. Unexpectedly good news, as I now have a reason to play 1 and 2 consecutively when 2 comes out next month. And people said that there aren't worthy Wii games Zack & Wiki Muramasa: The Demon Blade Little King's Story No More Heroes 1 & 2 Battalion Wars II Sengoku Basara 3 (though it's also on PS3) The remakes of Klonoa and A Boy and His Blob Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Kirby's Epic Yarn Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story (from the looks of things) DKC Returns And the obvious Mario, Zelda, SSB, etc. And I'm probably forgetting some up there. The Wii's definitely got more quality than many people give it credit for. I even have an issue of Game Informer from early last year that's got a guy hilariously saying that "Nintendo's done for good. They can never recover." because they didn't unveil a Wii successor at TGS 2010. Yeah...

Pre-ordered Devil Survivor 2, so there's part of my 2012 game plans taken care of. I think the only one else that I'm really interested in right now, that I know is coming this year, is Growlanser. Anything I should be looking for?

There's a shiny new Kingdom Hearts 3DS being released in Japan but of course Nintendo region-locked the damn things. www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/3DS/Kingdom+Hearts+3D+%5BDream+Drop+Distance%5D/news.asp?c=37076I have the same problem Fundertaker, I'll still have to buy The Last Story at release though as you never know how rare it will become. That said the special edition seems a bit pricey (when compared to PSP special editions with no extra mark-up) so maybe I will wait.
