Tommy Mercer, Phil Shatter, and Hulk Hogan are backstage.
So this is how it's going to be? The next generation of TNA Originals, that's who we are. And this is how TNA management treats us? A fatal four way match? Phil, can you believe this crap?!
What the hell, Jeff Jarrett?!
Who the f*** do you think you are?!
More importantly, who the f*** do you think you're dealing with?!
We're where this damn company is heading, we're the damn future! And you make us share our title shot with two teams who have had more than their fair share?
BULLSHIT!!
That's right, I call bullshit!
This is a damn conspiracy to hold us down! It's simple logic. Jarrett knows that if we face any of those teams two against two, it's academic, we'll kick ass and win titles.
If he puts us in there with all three teams at once, we'll still kick ass. But, any of those other has-beens could swoop in, win the match, and then what?
AND THEN WHAT?! That's the f***ing question!
You don't let that happen, that's what, dude. Don't look at it as the management conspiring against you. That's what it is, but this isn't a negative here, Mercer.
Then what is it?
It's an opportunity for efficiency, brothers!
.........heh?
...You heard the man!
You both know you're gonna beat AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels whether it's a one-on-one, triple threat, fatal four-way, six pack challenge, twelve team turmoil, or a 20-team battle royal. You take on the champs and two other teams at the same time, then that's three teams you can say "Defend the titles against them? No, we already beat 'em!" when you win tonight.
You had the Machineguns' number last night until they screwed you out of the match with a countout, and High Flight's got their focus split between this match and that crap with Vince Russo. Which is gonna come up for me sooner or later, trust me, but that's another story for another time. Tonight, the only thing Hulkamania's worried about is sending you two home with the tag titles in hand and sending all the Hulkamaniacs and all the little Gunners out there home happy.
DAMN STRAIGHT!!!
But, uh...still. This is gonna be a hell of a fight. And we ain't even got that double team move sorted out yet.
Double team move?! You want a double team move?! I'll give you a damn double team move, Phil!
How 'bout I kick some ass, you kick some ass, then we both kick some ass at the same f***ing time!
Might help if we got a plan a little more solid than that.
Pick a move, Phil. I don't care what move, just pick a move.
......ya might be on to something here, man. Improv works. We'll sort this shit out when we hit the ring. But we get those Motown punks first. Gotta get 'em back for last night. Those two are an insult to...to...to guys with a gun-related nickname.
Mercer just stares at Shatter.
WHATEVER, MAN! WE'RE GOING OUT THERE AND WE'RE KICKING THEIR ASSES SO BAD, THEY DON'T COME BACK THIS TIME!!!!!!
DAMN RIGHT!! AND THEN WE'RE GONNA GET THOSE DAMN DRUGGIES!!!
Man, DARE oughta give us a medal after what we do to those two tonight. No better way to teach the kids that crack is whack than showin' 'em what happens when you shoot up and try to take on the best in the game.
MAN, NOW I'M PUMPED!!! AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!
THEN LET'S QUIT TALKING AND GO SHOW ALL THOSE OLD BASTARDS WHY THEY'RE THE PAST AND WE'RE THE FUTURE!!!!!
ANGELS!!! I HOPE YOU POLISHED OUR BELTS UP NICE!!!! BECAUSE I HATE SMUDGY GOLD!!!
*Mercer and Top Gun storm off to the ring.*
Meanwhile…
Christy Hemme is backstage with AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels.
Guys, you are just moments aways from defendiong your titles aginst four other challengers. What are your thoughts at this time?
Well here we are then, Turning Point. And I guess you want us to go through the teams we'll be facing tonight. Well why not?
Why don't we start with the Motor City Machine Guns? Sabin and Shelley, they've had a lot of success. And like us they are three time TNA World Tag Team Champions. But unfortunately unlike us they never had much success as singles wrestlers. I mean aside from Chris Sabin's reign as X Division Champion they never made a splash in TNA outside the tag ranks. Which is why tonight is important to them. You see any other night AJ and I would be right behind them but tonight we are your opponents. Which means that unfortunately you are gonna leave empty handed again.
Which brings us to High Flight. Now these two are a bit more like us. RVD has done it all, he's held numerous titles including being a former world champion. And Jeff Hardy, well he's had great singles success too. In fact Jeff you may remember that I brought you into TNA when I was feuding with Sting, Matt Morgan and...oh yeah, Chris here. Funny how things work out. But that was a long time ago. Things can really move fast around here. I mean it was two months ago that RVD was challenging for the world title. Now he's challenging for the tag belts. Most people would consider that a demotion but to me it just means that Rob is driven to win titles. He wants to be a champion. And like with the Guns, any other night we'd be right behind him. But not tonight.
And that brings us to Mercer and Shatter. Two guys who think they're owed the world but don't seem to be willing to earn it. So you have the backing of Hulk Hogan. Didn't seem to do you much good, Top Gun. It didn't stop your most memorable moment in TNA being you getting your ass kicked by Eric Young at Bound For Glory. Hell, it didn't even save your buddy's job.
I proved last year at Bound For Glory that Hulk Hogan is an old man who has lost sight of what wrestling in 2011 is all about. And here's the thing, you two do have talent. We'll give you that. Mercer, you didn't hold that Legends title that long for nothing. But you are not, and you never will be, us.
You want to talk about how you're the future, the new TNA Originals. Thing is, you don't get to decide that. AJ didn't start calling himself Mr TNA, it was a title bestowed upon him. Fact is you have to earn it. Just don't count on that happening tonight.
Styles and Daniels exit.
