Grant Morrison's 5+ year story had its ups and downs but I'm just disappointed that it's ending out of nowhere without an ending. It's like a TV show getting cancelled when they're in the middle of a mystery or after a big cliffhanger.

Barbara Gordon as Batgirl again is a HUGE mistake. She built a large female fanbase as Oracle, and was also a strong, independent handicapped character. All this talk about keeping around Jamie Reyes and Batwoman for the sake of diversity, and they take away a popular character in a wheelchair. Brilliant. A character in a wheelchair who, by all comic and logical points, makes no sense to keep in that chair, other than it's a minority bonanza. I get the issue of "not wanting to take advantage over regular people with handicaps", but then again, the average handicapped person is not leading a team of crime fighters against villains who plan to destroy everyone in the city. Believe me, I asked around, and none of the wheelchaired bound people here run any kind of vigilante squad. Plus, in a world where a broken spine, near neath, actual death, suicide via drug overdose, and a bunch of other stuff is treated as easy enough to fix, it makes the glaring omission of fixing Barbara Gordon's legs (which, incidentally still work when Deadman "uses her") a bit more obvious. I will say, that is only for letting her walk. She could have stayed Oracle all she wanted, just be more mobile. Would have liked something they did with Microchip during Punisher's Dark Reign and his appearance in Suicide Kings. Plus, I don't care how good she can be with her fists, having to defend herself with half her body in a limited range ain't exactly useful in any combat situation. Anyone who say Friday The 13th: Part II would testify to that.

I always liked the idea that she was staying in the chair because she felt she didn't NEED to get herself fixed. She'd continued her life, become more than she would have as Batgirl and was a visable and good role model for anyone in a wheelchair who, depsite what happens in comics, wont ever be getting up out of it.
From that point of view, it is a stupid change. But the cynic in me is already counting down the days until someone shoots her again.

Holy crap, DC is going back to 1986.
Seriously, think about it: if things like Babs getting shot, Clark and Lois unmarried, the return of JLI et al. are happening, does it not feel like everything that happened after the Crisis is being deleted or tweeked?
Man, and people who picked up a comic in 1986 were mad when so much was changed... guess it's my generation's turn.

Wow........one of the most compelling character changes ever gets undone just like that. That's a shame. AND Tim Drake's still nowhere to be seen? This is getting more than a little sketchy.

And no Cassandra Cain. Fair enough Geoff likes the Silver Age, but to basically screw over almost everything else that's come since is just a load of rubbish for the fans who've grown to like the stories and characters since then.

I'm iffy on the whole idea but alot of the things being pitched around sound good, most interested in Terriffic getting a series and hopefully a good start for Hawkman. Hope seeing how things are being changed Owen Mercer's death never happened. God that angered me so damn much.

So wait, Damien is his Robin.
Are they completely rebooting the universe or just changing things up?
Will we get Bruce deducing Clark's identity all over again?
Is Clark going to be a lovable loser again, who Lois doesn't even give a second look to?
Where the hell are Dick and Tim?
WHERE IS CONNER KENT?!

Jason Todd......leading a team of "anti-heroes"? No, Red Hood is a villain, plain and simple. Ugh. Where's Judd Winnick to fight for the heart of this character when you need him?

So is this going to be a "time bomb" of sorts where the Universe blows up and goes back to 1986?

Thing is, he was always pretty much presented as the "bad guy" for doing that, with Batman presented as going about things the "right way". Slapping the "anti-hero" label on him and teaming him up with Arsenal and Starfire(why?) of all people legitimizes him as a "hero", and I don't like that. He was a great, complex villain. Why fix what's not broken?

I have a horrible feeling Secret Six is getting screwed here. Not a peep about it, despite it having a sizable underground following.
Something feels off about the idea of a group like that having a book in this new 'reset' universe where it seems alot of people are getting their status quo backdated.

I'd like to see 1st month sales for all these new #1s. Batwing will DEFINITELY be the lowest selling one, I bet.

Why fix what's not broken? Well they say that Arsenal was a "rejected" sidekick so I bet he'll still be a druggie. And the writeup on Starfire makes it sound like she just escaped spaceprison and came to Earth for the 1st time. Saying that those 2 characters "legitimize" Red Hood is based on the old DCU......who knows who they'll be come September

And with Oracle gone, we know Birds of Prey is dead. I'm sure Bane will go back to being a snarling, muscleheaded dope of a Batman villain, Deadshot will make a few jobber Batman appearances, and the rest of the Six will go on to.....probably never be used again. Dammit.

So basically they're Charlie's Angels crossed with X-Force
