Dude still has super strength, he's not helpless on land. Plus, y'know, an army of Atlanteans. I'm sure they'd have enough magic or tech to make a war interesting. Anyways, I see this as being more like House of M. It's someone who went back in time and changed one thing that changed everything, and Booster Gold will fix it and things will be back to normal again.

I feel I have to ask though...where is this Silver Age influence? If anything from what I've seen comics have gotten even more violent and explicit than they did in the 90's.

I still say the World's combined war machine smashes the super strong fishman if he doesn't get someone else involved. He could feasibly find a way to essentially remove all their water and bleed them all out that way, but that's more metal band album artwork and not so much a story that lenbds itself to an exciting comic book.

One More Day/Brand New Day is essentially a reboot. Bucky/Winter Soldier as well. Then there are series like Thor: First Thunder, Strange, Captain America: Man Out of Time, and the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes stuff Joe Casey did. Well, there's a difference between reboot and retcon, but I understand where you're going with this. Marvel's done it's fair share of retconning, a lot of it done silently due to the timescale (Reed and Ben originally served in WW2; they no longer did now. Pegger Carter is now Sharon Carter's aunt instead of sister, etc) But what I was getting at is that Marvel hasn't taken that very slippery slope yet of resetting an entire continuity completely, the way DC has several times now. The most extreme they got in that regard was Heroes Reborn, but that only involved a small handful of titles while the rest remained ongoing. Things like House of M and Age of Apocalypse I don't really count since they were acknowledged beforehand as having a finite life.

I'd say that the closest thing Marvel ever did to a reboot was the Ultimate universe. Starting the whole MU from scratch and still keep the original one intact.
When the UU started, I was always looking forward to see how they would introduce the new versions of the classic characters.

For instance, I thought the Ultimate version of Pyro was actually superior to the mainstream version....up until Ultimatum.

I wish DC would hurry the hell up with trades (Like Marvel do).
I'm so far behind

So all the world can attack... the ocean? I think you drastically underestimate exactly how much Atlantis could screw up the DC world if they so chose. Aside from all Atlanteans being superpowered, more or less, they pretty much have the capability of starving and screwing up every world power. Aquaman would actually be a pretty threatening dude if he so used Atlantis to it's fullest as a villain. He's no Superman, no, but it's pretty short sighted to just ignore how much controlling the ocean matters... when it covers 75 percent of the planet. Also, consider that around 80 percent of the people on the planet live near the ocean. Yeah, Omaha, Nebraska is relatively safe... but he's still capable of getting to 4 of every 5 people on earth.

Aquaman is always viewed as pathetic after his appearance in that, even if he really is a bit of a badass everywhere else.

I dislike Aquaman simply because he isn't Namor. Namor is just so much cooler.
