So I just saw the trailer for the Fright Night remake....and it doesn't look THAT bad, surprisingly. Color me shocked. With the rating it's recieved, it could actually end up being a decent remake/update of the original.

www.slashfilm.com/attack-block-release-date-july-29/I'm hoping this plays like gangbusters over here, because I've been hearing fantastic word (plus, I trust anything with Edgar Wright's name on it). I highly doubt it though, because people will hate the way the dialogue is spoken and played out.

Well, I caught the SyFy original flick Abominable this morning, and while the movie itself is forgettable to the core, it does feature Lance Henriksen in his usual "grizzled survivalist" supporting role. Folks, this is one of the true unsung heroes in all of moviedom - he's added so much to the smattering of horror movies he's been in, from Aliens to Pumpkinhead to Hellraiser on the Interwebz. Joe Bob salutes this man.
Got two new HOF inductions typed up for the next thread that everyone should be happy with, down from the usual three. From this point on, the inductions might shrink down to a basis of "however many people a lot of us praise" in the previous thread because, really, I've already thrown in my own personal sacred cows. At any rate, one of the inductions in particular is LONG overdue, and discussion about this person in this particular thread finally warranted an induction.

Oh dear god, I need to tell my dad this. He thinks the original is one of the worst films he has ever seen.

I liked it...then again, I'm a sucker for goofy s***. Obviously, the Chiodos brothers were going for a Horcom (horror comedy) film.

I love Killer Klowns from Outer Space! The ultimate cheesy horror flick. I'm down for a sequel!

Speaking of classic horror films, the MGM HD channel (don't know how many of you have it OR heard of it) were doing a horror marathon, and they showed (and ended up watching myself) The Return of the Living Dead. 'Twas quite awesome.

At any rate, one of the inductions in particular is LONG overdue, and discussion about this person in this particular thread finally warranted an induction. I really liked Abominable, seeing how it was kind of a Sasquatch-ploitation version of Rear Window, with one of the COOLEST face-biting scenes I've ever seen in ANY horror film. At any rate, it's LEAGUES above the usual crap SyFy churns out, both in terms of creature FX and acting, as well. Also...just watched the two films which you did a WONDERFUL write-up on JU-ON: Black Ghost and JU-ON: White Ghost. I won't attempt to review them, since you already did such a great, in depth job of it, Thomas, but I will say that personally, I enjoyed BLACK GHOST a whole lot more than WHITE GHOST. Also, thanks to this very forum, there is a HILARIOUS "in joke" in WHITE GHOST that only someone who frequents these boards will get: {Spoiler}While basketballs might not hold grudges, apparently, some GRUDGES are pretty fond of holding basketballs. ;D ;D If you're a fan of the GRUDGE series, check these out!

So, this weekend, I visited my relatives, who rented a horror movie. That movie was Boogeyman, the one from 2005. Now, I saw that movie before, and I was mostly ehh, on it. I wasn't gonna watch it, but I figured "why not?" and stuck around.
You know what was weird about it? Since I saw it before, but they didn't, there was this situation where they would react to the movie, but I wouldn't movie, and there was a few times where I was getting freaked out by their reaction than any from the movie. Also, the movie didn't age well compared to the last time I saw it. Just reminded me of when my sister and her friends brought me to see Jurrassic Park 2 in the theaters, and everyone but me was freaking out and holding their eyes closed.
Also, noticed that Grudge 3 is up for free, legally, on Youtube via Crackle. Just figured I'd mentioned it, like I did with REPO last time. Personally, I'm more interested that they have up the last Christopher Lee Dracula movie. Hooray Hammer!
