It seems a majority of the board weren't fans of these guys getting top spots toward the end of ECW. I could be wrong, I dunno.
What were people's thoughts on these guys getting main event focus while the company was losing its top stars?

I think alot of the internet bashing of Justin Credible in ECW is only in retrospect and it wasn't so bad at the time he was champion.
I liked Justin Credible, and thought he made a good champion. The Impact Players run really got him over as a dastardly heel.
I had a friend who literally idolized him (even had a mini shrine to him), and was crushed at how he was used in WWE after ECW's collapse.

I loved Justin Credible and had no problem with his title run. I do remember the people who had problems with his run at the time it was happening mainly hinged on his loose affiliation to the Kliq.
I honestly don't remember much of Corino's run with the belt. I remember him being there of course, doing the King of Old School gimmick with Jack Victory, feuding with Dusty, and the whole Network deal. But for the life of me, I can't remember anything about his title reign.

For me Justin was the golden child for Heyman. Sort of like Orton was in WWE. You know he was going to be pushed down your throats several times. They even did the initial losing streak with him and Mikey Whipwreck before pushing him to the moon. It is sad because I actually think he has a lot of talent and is a really nice guy but he was pushed way too far for his look
Corino was a guy who was a manager, got destroyed by Jerry Lynn and then all of a sudden won the heavyweight title and got busted open at every PPV
Another one that was annoying was Rhino. Just pushed from the get go

Justin is one of my favourites of all time, I loved him being champ.

I've been a Corino mark for years, so I had no problem with his run with the belt in ECW.
Didn't really have an issue with Credible either.

Who else could they have made champ around those times anyway?

Who else could they have made champ around those times anyway? Wasn't he still hurt?

Around the time of the Credible/Corino/Lynn title runs, RVD was in limbo. He was hurt, then the rumors were rampant that he was going to try Hollywood. Who would put their World Championship on someone with an uncertain future? Oh right.

I enjoyed them both. was a big Justin Credible fan. ever since I turned on ECW one day and saw a tombstone off the turnbuckle, I was hooked. at the time, Corino was always feuding with my favorite wrestlers, so I was always looking forward to seeing the King of Old School get his comeuppance. he drew me into matches and I probably enjoy Corino more than Credible these days. either way I dug both of their runs

I loved Credible. His matches made up for his mouth, he was in one of the company's greatest tag teams and his feud with Dreamer was magnificent.
Corino I didn't like so much but I appreciated his work and his promos.
Rhino, I bought from the get go. I loved the push and thought he was fantastic. Never understood what everyone's problem with him was.

Credible is/was a talented wrestler, no doubt about that. I think people found/find it difficult to take him seriously as an ECW badass because he was Aldo Montoya, Portugese Man of War. That yellow face jock-strap lives on in infamy.

Justin and Steve weren't big guys but and I think people were tired of the belt going between Shane Douglas/Sabu/Taz/and Sandman, when all those guys left they had established themselves very well

Never had a problem with either of them being pushed. They were over, they both could cut solid promos, and were guys who could be trusted to stick around.

I‘ve always loved Corino. Credible was also one of my ECW favorites when I was a wee-mark. I loved his championship run more than anything at that time. I still have no idea why, to be honest.

Justin Credible was a great heel for ECW, and The Impact Players was great for him to become that heel. Considering the lack of options of who they could put that title on, I think he did great.
I was never into Corino, but he was/is very talented.

But for the life of me, I can't remember anything about his title reign. While Corino was indeed champion, he never actually got to "hold" the physical belt. If I remember correctly, Sandman took it moments after losing it at November to Remember and refused to give it up.

Who else could they have made champ around those times anyway? I don't think Fonzie would've been a good champ.

I liked the build they gave Corino. Making him serious and showing he wasn't a pansy. Then he won the belt and.....immediately started acting like a chickens*** again. I thought it was counterproductive.
