Crippling moves should have stayed as such. Remember when Jake the Snake first used the DDT? It put your lights out. Now, it's just a "hope-spot" counter to buy time.
Ric Flair/Greg Valentine and the Figure-Four? The referee had to step in and untangle the guys. (Never followed how Tito Santana could do the same move and not have a problem breaking the hold. Maybe it's just a heel thing for a few extra seconds of pain on his opponent.)
Too many chokeholds, which is against all wrestling logic. I know, they want it to be "more legit" like UFC, but we were taught as kids in the '70s and '80s "if the forearm goes under the chin, that's a choke and it's illegal". The ref would constantly be checking the sleeper or the headlock to make sure the heel wasn't turning the move into a choke. Then the heel's manager would ask the ref a question to get him distracted, the heel would take his thumb and stick it in the babyface's throat for a couple seconds. (If I was a wrestler nowadays, I'd just kick a guy in the abdomen and slap on a choke. Where's the build and interest in that?)
The wrestlers have gotten lazy match-wise, where they're taking each others' moves. I see quite a few different versions of a "Brogue Kick". That's disrespectful to the guy who does it as a featured move. Guys taking each others' match spots. Some of these guys need to watch some older footage and get some recycled ideas.
Throw in a 10-minute time-limit draw every so often. It makes both guys look good; nobody has to cry about "doing the J.O.B. on the PPV/TV". Also gives an excuse to have a rematch.
Announcers should point out what each wrestler has to gain/lose in these matches. Why have a match if there's nothing to battle over? Even something simple like "So-and-so wants to climb the ladder and just can't because he can't beat this guy." or "Whatchamacallit tapped out after the bell rung to end the match and wants vindication."
