What are things you miss about old school wrestling (before 1997) that you wish would make a comeback? I personally miss Ric Flair being surrounded by police and security during his entrances. It also emphasized to me, the sport-like atmosphere of the wrestlers.

Angles for everyone from the top of the card, down the lowest of the lows. Seemed like EVERYONE had some sort of story or angle going on. Nowadays if you aren't one of the top ten guys, you're mostly forgotten about.

Nowadays if you aren't one of the top ten guys, you're mostly forgotten about. This, 100%. Make the midcard important, and then your main eventers look even BIGGER by comparison. To take it back to an early 90's WWF example, there's a video out there of Mr. Perfect(a midcarder at the time) doing publicity for WWF on talk shows(I think Regis and Kath Lee). Does anyone here think for a second that WWE would put....oh, let's say R-Truth on a talk show now?

I miss actual wrestling. It seems as if most matches a punch, kick, and chop fests withe a few rest spots in between. I know that matches on tv have time constraints, but look at what DBD and William Regal did with just a couple of minutes.

But Mr. Kennedy did a lot of publicity for the company (even before his 'movie' was coming out) when he was a mid-carder. MVP was on the View, wasn't he? Jericho was an upper-midcarder, but certainly not in the main event picture, when he was hosting a game show. And what does Mr. Perfect going on a talk show have to do with mid-carders having angles?

I know these are little things, but I feel it makes a promotion look more professional and loved when they brought it all back for the Old School Raw
Camramen and crew wearing those jumpsuits, I know wearing all black blends them in and makes them invisible on camra, but I thought the blus jumpsuits were cool and separated the crew from security guards and camra men
Announcers wearing blazers with the WWE logo on the pocket, makes them look more legitiment to the the promotion they work for.

I miss the way that matches weren't repeated to death in the older days of WWE. I mean, HBK and Bret Hart were in the company together for years but how many times did they face each other? 3 times on PPV in the span of 5 years.
You'd also get a wider assortment of matches. The main event of Raw would usually be a main eventer vs. a midcarder. I'd actually be able to put up with another HHH title reign if he defended the title against someone like Zack Ryder or Yoshi Tatsu on Raw from time to time.
Enhancement talent (aka REAL jobbers) is something else that should make a return. Feed these faceless jobbers to the midcarders to make them look good, and then feed the midcarders to the main eventers to make them look good.

R-Truth, a convicted criminal? Probably not. MVP was on the View, wasn't he? So, MVP a convicted criminal can be on a show, but R-Truth can't? That's not fair to flair Ron I agree on Storylines for everyone. But would it work today? Back then they had jobbers, today the midcarders are the jobbers. Bring back the jobbers! I also miss the real authority figures. No General Manager crap, no email crap but Jack Tunney, it was way better that way. And bring back real gimmicks. Wrestling is supposed to be over the top entertainment with funny or strange characters and not "Oh you can't see me" or "I once was undead, then a biker and now i'm just some old guy doing"

Commentators who called matches and got the wrestlers over rather than trying to establish their own catch phrases or become a bigger star than the people in the ring.

Commentary that revolved around a match rather than talking about the main event angle over and over. Im glad CM Punk called them out on it during Bryan vs Regal.

Wrestlers being allowed to do their own promos, not having everything all scripted out for them ahead of time.
Managers for wrestlers who aren't that great at getting themselves over.
And I know I'll probably be in the minority with this, but... divas having bra and panties matches and constantly wearing thongs.

The 10 punches in the corner spot. I miss the move and alway like counting the blows. Tag Teams - if WWE own the names and likenesses of teams why not create new updated versions- like a new modern era version Demolition, Doink or Killer Bees?

classic heel spots like putting the feet on the ropes while using holds or going for a pin, cheating to use foreign objects behind the refs back for heat, announcers treating matches like sporting events instead of distractions from the next pre-writen segment...
shadowangel brought up my biggest one though which I written about before; There needs to be another Jack Tunney. The great thing about Tunney was that he worked perfectly both in and out of kayfabe. Obviously almost every decision he made (kayfabe) had to favor the notion of an inclusive finish that would lead to a rematch. Out of kayfabe it was so the company could make more money and in kayfabe it was because he bond by the rules of the WWF. So while he did things that could have gotten him real heel heat he could say he simply following the rules and that he didn't have any choice. It let the heat be on the wrestlers where it belonged.
