Just watching this DVD now, but wondering if Hogan's interview parts were recorded specially for this DVD (and thus recorded while Hogan is with TNA) or did they just use stock footage that they already had of him?

If I had to guess they're probably old but then again Hogan IS in WWE All-Stars so anything is possible.

If Hogan is under contract with TNA, there would be no way he'd be able to do a new interview for a WWE DVD. This has to be old footage that was simply never used until now.

dosent hogan have a thing in his contract that says he can do outside work just as long as it isnt wrestling?? caus i thought that was the reason why he could appear in wwe allstars...i imagine it could also mean he could do dvd interviews just not appear on raw or any other televised live show...

dosent hogan have a thing in his contract that says he can do outside work just as long as it isnt wrestling?? That would pretty much eliminate anything related to the WWE. Even if it doesn't explicitly state that, I'm willing to bet that TNA has a "no working with WWE" clause in his contract. I'm pretty sure that WWE has the right to use his name and likeness from back in his WWE/WCW days. Basically, anything related to the 80's "Hulk Hogan", "Hulkamania", or his Hollywood Hogan days are probably fair game, but if Hogan has developed anything for use exclusively during his TNA run, that is going to be off limits. I'm pretty sure that any non-TNA interviews are limited to independent wrestling publications or media that is not directly tied to wrestling, such as an interview on Howard Stern or Bubba the Love Sponge. I am 110% confident that any WWE-based interviews are completely off limits.

It really doesn't seem like the interview with Hogan segments were taped prior. Hogan being in All Stars and being one of the few personalities in wrestling that exceed the business itself has a lot to do with the fact that he can pretty much go anywhere at any time.
Hogan's been in TNA for over a year now, so I'm not sure that they'd have thought this far ahead with interviewing Hogan with.

what was the stuff he was talking about? if its anything on wm6 or warrior, its most likely from when he did the warrior dvd, anything else proably the same interview from his 2002 dvd. The wcw dvd used interview footage that was shot around his 2002 interview.

It's Hogan, and you can't do a Wrestlemania DVD that talks about the history, without Hogan. He's not somebody you can brush under the rug, you gotta have him.
Heck remember they promoted Foley's new book.

A part of me thinks they interviewed him a few years ago, prior to signing with TNA. Maybe around WM25, perhaps they were thinking of releasing that DVD back then to commemorate the 25th WM. Probably wrong though. But it was definitely done in the past 2/3 years due to it being in HD.

Lol @ "Hogan" and "true story" in the same sentence... Shawn Michaels shoot-pinned Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 16. True story, brother.

If this was recent, it would be odd if he was ever asked about TNA.

It was recorded in late 2007 I think.
Remember when he returned to RAW, saved Hornswaggle from Khali and promoted American Gladiators? He's wearing all black in the DVD, so I think it was around that time

Hogan is definitely on Vince's hate list at the moment because in this year's March Mania tournament on 24/7, Hogan is the only 1 seed that loses in the first round. As far as him being in All Stars goes, THQ negotiated with Hogan and Vince just had to ok it.

Usually WWE puts a year (2007 for example) in the upper right or left corner when they use old interview footage on DVD documentaries (in the case of someone who's dead or working in another company)

He's visibly skinnier, face-wise, in the True Story DVD compared to now, so its older footage.

I was wondering this as well, I hadn't considered that it could've come from 2007. That's probably true.
As for the game, isn't it that he can appear wherever because he owns the likeness to his own character? I can see WWE constructing a contract with a guy in such a way that he won't appear elsewhere while under contract with them, but TNA missing such a detail would totally not surprise me.
